The Sardinian connection.

Me too as I would like to have one with slipjoint construction and smaller dimensions if at all possible. I'm dreaming of Blonde horn though.....

Hello friends,

Here a semi-traditional from Davide Steri :

Have a great week-end :D:thumbup:

Hi there,
It's a very long time.
I really have to awake this topic

Here you will find two beautiful creations from Roberto Serra.

First a slip joint, with a RWL, 8.5cm blade, a titanium and ebony handle .
Also the screws are made buy the artist in ATS34.

Enjoy and let see the second one ....

Hello again,

Here is a modern pattada with a RWL, 8.5cm blade, a titanium and ivory handle.
It's a friction folder and all its screws are also made by the artist in ATS34.

Warm regards :D:thumbup:

Thanks to this BF’s thread I’ve been involved in Italian knife makers (although I am Italian!!!). So after buying a lot of american slipjoints I decided to order one Sardinian Resolza. I choose among the makers one that is making yet carbon steel blades. His name is Santino Pudda. He made me one small pattadese with only a 2.75” blade for EDC usage (he told me it’s the smallest ever done!!) and an overall length of 3.5”. Here some photos of the work in progress:

Thank you for the WIP pictures. I'm more than sure that you will love the knife when you get it.
Yes it is quite small compared with the standard resolza. I know it doesn't make much sense, but when I see a 4" slipjoint I think it's actually quite big...if I see a 4" resolza, I see it pretty small. Go figure.
Back to your knife: he's a great knifemaker and very respectful of traditional Sardinian cutlery.
You won't be disappointed for sure :)

Most elegant small knife, I thoroughly enjoyed the works pictures Stef. You should be proud to have such a knife!

Regards, Will

Just received!! It's a super featherweight, only 32 gr. and due to my thin hands it's a perfect EDC!!
A curiosity: it has the blade's tip protruding the handles. Fausto aka quattromori told me that in ancient times it was made so to open the blade on the pants or the jacket

Congratulations on the new resolza, stef!:thumb up:

I've found, through Fausto's famous generosity, that a small resolza makes a great edc pocket knife. It slices great, easy to handle, and drop dead gorgeous to boot. An added bonus is, as you age they are very easy on senior citizen arthritic fingers to open and close.

You stand correct! The very tip protruding from the back in the closed stance is the traditional feature enabling one handed opening like you said.

Great photo, Carl!

After my first small pattada, now a more traditional size one: 4" C70 blade. Not really an EDC but nice to handle and use!!

Upgrade...this pattada had the blade tip touching one scale, so I wrote to the maker Santino Pudda asking him to retouch it. Then I send it back and now after 10 months and many lies, I haven't received anything... So attention, be careful not to choose him!!!
