The Sardinian connection.

Hello,

I have seen this Pattada from Davide Steri for sell on a french forum.
It's a 9cm blade.
The blade has been made in an exceptional carbon steel from Achim Wirtz in Germany . This steel is not available anymore.
The price asked is 220€ which seems good to me .
If somebody is interested let me know. I can help and I can also send the knife to Davide for a a refurbishment.

That's a good collection you have there! Welcome aboard. I'm pretty much a noob when it comes to Sardinian knives myself, but they sure are nice!

Thank you guys for the warm welcome.

That's a collection to let your mouth water Â, what a beauty's.
Thx for the welcome draggat. Nice piece on display, well made as it shows.
Sharp remark there Ray ;)

Good luck with moving Â.

Hello guy's

Received my latest gift to myself by mail yesterday. This time not brought it myself from Sardinia :(

It's a lametta type with not to smooth polished rams horn heft.
Think it's a nice add-on to my collection due to the type of blade on this example.

Have to hold my sh***t of a while now to save for a nice handmade Logudoresa next year :)

Wishing you a well from The Netherlands !!!

Hello again, everyone! It’s been years since I’ve logged on, but I’ve still been totin’ trad folders. Anyway, just got the new Ancestry DNA results and it turns out I’m a little Sardinian. Then I got to remembering Fausto and the long talks we had about resolzas. I don’t know if the search function has failed me but does he still post here? We were talking about finding a pattada for me but then I just got caught up in life stuff.

If anyone would care to share with me where we are buying resolzas, I’d be obliged.

As I had this one out today I thought you might like some more photos.

I realy want to go back to Sardinia I had a great time there last time.

I tasted the best honey and the best wine of my life, the wine was like drinking nectar.

Went to Nuoro met friendly people and managed to keep my ears attached to my head (google it) 🤣

But it was complicated and included 6 ferry's.

Be my guest 😁🍻

I talk almost every day with my friends in Sardegna, all knife makers . So if you need something I can help, inform, translate, order , etc

Â
I went to one small town with no tourists just me in the square with the locals having the evening stroll and chat.

There was a artisan knife maker there I regret not buying from, but they where expensive and I was running out of money for fuel let alone food.

I am going to see if I can find the town you may know him.

EDIT
I found it by looking where I stayed with Airbandb its Bosa an absolutely stunning town.

The shop was very near the square where all the locals met.

Thanks I had a matching set of 3, I was allowed to choose the best ones.

That's the last one the others I sold some time ago.

Sometimes I realy hate UK laws on this.

I did see some that where a 1,000 Euros, the same in Corsica.

Good luck for your search for a resolza! Âchillepattada Âchillepattada helped me with these earlier this year. Jean-Marc is truly a good friend! His friend Gigi Sechi made both of these

Beautiful Pattada! Did you get anything from Corsica?

I love the idea of a resolza! The resolza along with the laguiole is among the best looking of folding traditional knife designs.

Unfortunately I have to admit that I do not much like friction folders. I don't care for how alive they are. Pity really, because I would really love to add one with a pink horn handle.

I had 2 traditional from Corsica one I sold the other I kept.
They are more basic and simple and I love them for that.
