The Sharpest knife you ever encounter

My Benchmade Rift came razor sharp but the sharpest I have ever got a knife from the factory is the 2010 Cold Steel Recon 1. Hands down it is scary sharp and suprised the he'll out of me. I shaved my arm so fast and painless, I doubt a razor could do a better job. My ZT 0350 is also right up there being scary sharp.

arter watching ankerson slicing toliet paper i elected to send him my b.m. m390. i thought slicing paper towels was good but the softness & toughness of toliet paper is a new zenith.

Like I was telling people, if a knife can slice it clean like in my video it's extremely sharp. :D

I figured I would shoot one of me doing it because explaining it isn't really like seeing it.

TP will tear extremely easy and it's not easy to slice it clean either.

That why I say it will cut TP and look like I used scissors. :)

Cutting tissue paper like that makes hair-whittling look like child's play. That is amazing Ankerson. Something for sharpening enthu to strive for.

Funny thing is I just modified my Opinel 10 sunday and put a new edge on it using my belt sander. It cuts toilet paper....THAT is scary sharp. I can get most any knife to split hairs but toilet paper is hard to cleanly cut.

I never gave my opinels much attention but after modding my no.10's blade and reprofiling it I have a newfound love for it.

Best edges out of box goes to spyderco. I have never had a dull spyderco shipped to me. I have experienced many so-so edges on BM's and Emersons.

Sharpest right now is my Dozier YPS - sharpest production out of the box was a Sog Visionary - downright dangerous really:).

Sharpest production knife I've encountered: CS AK-47
Sharpest custom: David Farmer sent me this little convex edge knife that would cut you just looking at it.

I did manage to do it with my ZDP Endura, although not nearly as easily as Ankerson's. I had to be careful not to tear the TP.

That means you are almost there.

That is my sharpness standard. :)

Sharpened one of my Shuns to that degree over the weekend. Boy was the wife suprised when she didnt even have to press on the tomato for it to go right through it. I hear a "Babe....did you make these things even SHARPER? Or is it just my imagination?" :D

Normally my kitchen knives whittle hair, but for fun I got it to cut TP. Its nice she noticed my effort:p

Woohoo! Thanks.

Now to be able to do it with every knife I sharpen. :D

All it takes is attention to detail and practice. :D

Nice when that happens isn't it. :D

For me its was one of the Rockstead folders - can't remember the exact model, but seeing it cut curls in free-hanging paper made a few jaws drop ( and this was at a knife show)
