House hunting s#cks @ss. Spent yesterday looking at properties. I realize we have unconventional requirements, but I never thought it would be this hard to find a place. The upside is that when we got home we saw a place that was just listed. Zoned residential, it's a double-brick construction stand alone building. About 1700 sq feet. Just need to confirm the ceiling height is 10.5' or taller. Fingers crossed that this place pans out. It would be a total gut-job, but we would finally have the space that we want. And did I mention that it comes with a vault? Not sure what the heck we would do with that - maybe a closet?

Gus, that sounds pretty awesome! The place I liked was just updated to "sale pending." It was going to be a bit of a fixer-upper, but it was a decent size house, in our budget and in a neighborhood the little lady really likes. No biggie though, we still have a bit of work to do getting pre-approved before we are ready to go.... We still spent a good portion of the day chasing down "for sale" signs and meandering around the area.

Hmmm... Has anyone ever have one of those moments where you're sitting there cutting something menial, then examine your knife and ask yourself, "When the hell did I bend my BK11?"

LOL! Stacked up we hit 10' 7"! But seriously, we've been looking for a space where we can build a proper climbing training wall. We're even looking at buying one of these gerbil walls for power endurance training.

Very true! we had a dog once, she didn't work out too well with the kids. That, and she always tried to join in with us :rolleyes:

Thanks Jonny, yeah I hear that about purple. Stripes tend to be more slimming, but gold will do ;)

My son called me earlier today wanting to borrow my hammer drill. Asked him what he was building, and he said training wall for climbing.

Nice! Let me know if he wants any advice. Been involved with building climbing walls since the early 90s.
