yesterday afternoon I built an 8x12 patio deck for a buddy to cover a bad bare spot/dog wallow in his back yard.
today I put on armor for the first time in 10 years and went out to fight for a couple of hours.
did better than I expected, and don't have any nasty bruises like I expected -- but I'm not looking forward to having to stagger out of bed and go to work tomorrow.

scale lorica, leather on the legs & forearms, 14# helmet made of 12 & 14 ga steel, stainless gauntlets, round shield, etc....
a right proper viking, I am!
unfortunately, no pics -- selfies are contra-indicated when a 6'4" 340# troll is doing his excited best to convince me to lay down and play dead.

How's it going fellas. Been a long few days and gonna be a long week and I will be happy when its over. Putting lots of miles on and spending lots on hotels and whatnot. Curt passed away Friday night and the funeral is Wednesday. Sorryb if I drug the snark down the other day, but I truly think of everyone here as friends and the well wishes and prayers help when I'm trying to stay strong while being Misti's shoulder to cry on and keeping her sane. Great bunch of people here for sure.

In other news, my gosh AA Forge is putting out some nice knives lately. http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/s...-Bushcraft-Knife-in-Desert-Ironwood-and-52100!!!

Also, good luck with the surgery tomorrow WW.
