Mauser, Glad you weren't hurt any worse. That could have easily required major surgery and/or AMPUTATION, if the digits were fubar enough.

Ok guys, looking at flashlights now. I want something small, bright (250 lumens or more) and that preferably runs on regular batteries.

There is a lot of different ones out there and I know there are some flashlight guys on this forum.

Holy crap Mauser. Glad it wasn't worse. Heal well. I prescribe frequent beard rubbing for an expedited healing process.

worldwood, here's hoping your dad's inspection is in your favor.

I've been looking for a new light as well, so far my top contenders are
1) Olight 13s
2) fenix Ld09
3)Ld02
4)Foursevens preon 2
5) and the ThruNite Archer 1A V2 NW

shard of Narsel?

Narsel?

You mean Narsil?

As in this?

Sorry, it bothered my Tolkien fanboy mind to see it misspelled. :D

I'm going to get banned for mod sass now. :foot: :D

people often misunderstand the blubbery words of a moistened bint offering them a sword...

narselius of the sword of the bint, made moist by her waters, and broken in haste :D

narsil, a morsel of bint

bladite - look up UHMW tape.
converting from drawer glides to slides = a major PITA.

Damn, Mauser. Just....damn. I'd consider myself one lucky SOB if that was all that happened. Not trying to be preachy, but at least next time use the brains ya got to keep the brains ya got.
I hope that heals up not only quickly, but straight and useful as well. Makes this little nick I gave myself last night (sharpening the Magua with the DMT) seem like nothing....though it's the worst knife cut I can remember giving myself in a decade:

At least it's stopped bleeding and doesn't need stitches.

Winter will not pay attention to the calendar here. My commute home through Pinkham Notch:

Mt. Washington is over to there somewhere. Durned if I could see it.

And all I can say is damn you Bladite and your tool obsession! Of course I had to check out some places on my 3 hour drive home.....found a couple of Stanley spokeshaves (#50 & #51 I think) and a little Union block plane at the first place. The woman there said, "oh, stop by the place I used to work on your way through Gorham" and I did....found a #78 rabbett with all the fences and whatnot intact....which my current #78 does not possess. Still, at $40 it was a pretty good deal, IMO.

Thanks guys, just stuff I mess around with. That stuff was enough to make me decide to be a knife modder not maker.
Noswad, do a search for Old Hickory bushcraft and you'll find some inspiration for modding. Stick with old carbon thrift stores are meh, ok, but you'll find better stuff at garage sales, little antique shops and second hand thrift stores(mom and pop joints not goodwill Salvation Army, etc) I know it may be hard for you to get around to places like that so check fleabay. I prefer Forgecraft myself.

Mauser, dang bro, always when you least expect it. Good luck on healin up. At least you didnt smash your face and wake up with a half shaved beard and stitches!

WW-best of luck man, sounds like its all coming together. I have 2 acres and its more than I thought it'd be. And down the road from pops? Yeah, no brainer. I only dream of that, my dads in Louisiana,sooo...

And now for something completely different....

Alright, thanks!

Meanwhile, convince me to buy a ZT 0560. :D

If I recall correctly, the 0560/0561 was voted the official folder of the Beckerheads a couple years back.
