I'm trying lambsquarter, a kind of weed that has powdery leaves, I'll post the results when I'm done. I usually don't have good luck with wild edibles, like the Dandelions, they were nasty, and the Stinging nettles, which made me throw up and sent me blundering threw the woods to go home, in the dark.

I have high hopes for this though.

I've been out digging dirt. About 12-15 heaping wheel barrows full. Effing back is killing me.

My daughter got into some poison ivy, has a rash on her arm and side of her face. Its her first time getting poison ivy reactions....

Im lucky enough to not have problems with poison ivy. When i was a kid my step brother would get it and i wouldnt even though we played in the same areas, one day i even tried to get it to skip school, I broke a few leaves and wiped it on my arm... Nothing. But some people have to be exposed to more, some people dont develop a rash until being exposed several times, and some people are pretty much immune to it. I dont intentionally touch it anymore just in case but i never had a rash from it to this day.

Allergies are weird... my wife and her mom can break out in a rash just from brushing past poison ivy, but it never seems to bother me. On the other hand, a couple times when I was a kid (in totally different locations) I broke out something fierce and got hives so bad my whole face swelled up and I could barely breathe - folks had to take me to the ER for meds. We never did figure out what caused it, and it hasn't happened since.

Same thing with hay fever... never had a problem till my late teens, then it was almost unbearable every spring and fall for a few years. Now I get a little congested in the AM but it's no big deal.

Damn rotten smelling Bradford pears get me when they bloom in the spring. I have one good attack a year either when the Bradford's bloom or the Virginia pine. Take allergy pills religiously in the spring and keep Benadryl on hand because I know it is coming.

On the other hand poison ivy never got me, I still wear sandals during the summer and tromp through it all day. One time when I was a kid though, I got into poison sumac pretty good. That was an excruciating experience, the only parts of me not covered in blisters and rash was from my knees down..... literally. And no it was not an std

Woohoo!!

Just got my Teton Oasis1100 in and its SWEET!!!

Really i like everything about it, the only thing that i can find that i dont care for, and its an easy fix, is the straps are pretty long so they will dangle some.. No biggie there i can cut them to length. Also id never use the bottom belt type strap on a bag this size anyways so i may cut them off completely. Not sure on that yet though.

but it was for sure worth the price and the wait.

I get a little sneezy and watery eyes in heavy pollen but thats about it.

My wife though has had poison ivy a couple times growing up, her mother actually had to go to the hospital several months back because she got poison ivy and it was all around her eyes and her eyes were swelling up, it was pretty rough looking.

Some people are just made for the woods a little more :D

I have to be exposed to a lot of poison ivy to get a reaction, and when I do break out I just shower with lye soap and its gone in a day or two

Poison ivy, Poison oak, Poison sumac; all share the same flaws as Fleas, ticks, mosquitos, and leeches--pestillent and useless. also, disease-spreading.

buy I guess there has to be some drawback to hanging out in the woods all the time, or we would never work :D

Pics or it didn't happen. Sheesh, WW.

Good day in the mail room today! Got my VIP pass for Blade from our own illustrious Theodore Hunt, along with a cell phone case that I think (if I could do them) I could do pull ups off of this thing is so overbuilt!

Also cleaned up the office next to my bed room so I at least have somewhere to sit besides in bed when I want to be on the computer. The room isn't completely done but the AC is installed in the window, the wasps have been killed, and the desk is usable for my computer!

So on the 19th of this month, exactly one week before Memorial Day, I went down to the post office to order the new keys for my mailbox here at the apartment complex. They told me they would be ready to pick up last Friday (5 days). It's the 29th and the keys still aren't available to be picked up, so I can't get my mail...
