Thanks bro.
Yea the mule is a nice one, just 2-3 times the price, I have used and seen a handful of camelbaks and cant justify the higher price compared to this one, plus the money wasnt in the budget to get a camelbak. But i was a little worried about the quality with the lower price of this one before i got it, since the only ones i have seen or messed with were camlebaks and the walmart ones i was worried this one would be like the ones at walmart, not the case at all.
And its funny you mention the shock cord..... Its already off

Once i noticed i could take it off without cutting any part of the bag or even the cord itself i removed it. The end of the cord has a clip, and its easy to pop off that clip and then just pull the shock cord right off. Looks better without it.
For now i have the straps folded up and they have little clip holders to hold them in place and i can add some ranger bands like you suggest, but i dont want them getting caught on anything as im climbing up hills and over high brush and trees and i just dont want them dangling at all really.... im not cutting them yet though, Ill wait to take it out on a trip and see if they actually get in the way or not. If they do ill cut the entire straps off, like i said id NEVER use that strap. There is no incident where they might get used at all with me, but if they dont get in the way, or keep falling out the clips and dangling down they will stay.
