The Snark Knight Returns

So on the 19th of this month, exactly one week before Memorial Day, I went down to the post office to order the new keys for my mailbox here at the apartment complex. They told me they would be ready to pick up last Friday (5 days). It's the 29th and the keys still aren't available to be picked up, so I can't get my mail...

I'd wait a little longer, the crap will be dried and won't stink, and the snakes will be dead.

:D

Pics or it didn't happen. Sheesh, WW.

Here ya go bud!! I took a couple pictures but couldnt really show the bag well in the pictures so i made a quick video.

I get minor reactions to poison ivy on occasion.

But I have got into poison parsnip a couple of times, and that stuff is down right brutal.l

I had chickenpox when i was real young, and if i wear metal jewelry other than real gold ill get a minor red rash around the jewelry in a day or so, but other than that never had any types of outbreaks from anything.

Man the weather here has been messed up this spring. We had snow and lows in the 20s a few weeks ago and today it's 90.

Excellent bit of rain this afternoon... finally! A good steady soaking without damaging winds for about an hour. We really needed it. Lots of thunder and lightning though, which scared the hell out of the dogs. Mainly because I let them in... they were sucking up/cuddling around me... I know dang well they've survived many a storm outside but I think they're getting spoiled and faking it :D

Also, I have packages going out for tjswarbrick and Pointy in about 30 minutes... I'll pm/email you guys with the tracking numbers when I get back from running errands

My dog is a sissy too. She won't leave my side during a thunderstorm. We are supposed to have rain for the next 3 days, but we really don't need it right now. The farmers have really been struggling to get their crops in because the fields have been really wet.

That's no fun at all, especially when the growing season is short to begin with; a couple extra weeks waiting for the ground to be dry enough to till and plant can really mess up your plans. :(

I'm no farmer, just a suburban homesteader... but that's one of the major reasons we switched over to square foot/raised beds/container gardening this year... it's so much easier to deal with the water levels. So far, so good...

Nice little pack. I'll hang on to my CamelBak Mule for a little while longer though. The rain cover is a nice touch though I'll admit. Get rid of that stupid shock cord crap on the front, and don't cut those straps to size (just fold em up and ranger band them/tape)!!!

Thanks bro.

Yea the mule is a nice one, just 2-3 times the price, I have used and seen a handful of camelbaks when i was in the army and now i cant justify the higher price compared to this one, plus the money wasnt in the budget to get a camelbak. But i was a little worried about the quality with the lower price of this one before i got it, since the only ones i have seen or messed with were camlebaks and the walmart ones i was worried this one would be like the ones at walmart, not the case at all.

And its funny you mention the shock cord..... Its already off :D Once i noticed i could take it off without cutting any part of the bag or even the cord itself i removed it. The end of the cord has a clip, and its easy to pop off that clip and then just pull the shock cord right off. Looks better without it.

For now i have the straps folded up and they have little clip holders to hold them in place and i can add some ranger bands like you suggest, but i dont want them getting caught on anything as im climbing up hills and over high brush and trees and i just dont want them dangling at all really.... im not cutting them yet though, Ill wait to take it out on a trip and see if they actually get in the way or not. If they do ill cut the entire straps off, like i said id NEVER use that strap. There is no incident where they might get used at all with me, but if they dont get in the way, or keep falling out the clips and dangling down they will stay.

I like your pack, don't get me wrong. I only said I'd stick with my Camelbak because my wife would flip the eff out if I brought home another hydration pack. I had the same feeling as you toward the waist strap and for a long time I had it folded and wrapped around the base of the pack. I was able to set it to the length that a few wraps around the base of the pack could be held there just using the clip. But now, I will use the waist strap on occasion, just because that water will get heavy after awhile and, well the waist strap keeps the base of my pack from moving around too much. That last sentence might make more sense if you know that I do not adjust my shoulder straps at all. They are locked in at my comfort for the weight of a full pack and bladder and they remain there.

Is there such a thing as a fixed blade based off of a Buck 110? I kinda think I'd like one. I know Buck doesnt make in, but maybe someone has made one or something.

Quiet around here tonight!! I've got the grill fired up with some potatoes and onions cooking away. I'm going to throw some corn on the cob and bratwurst on in a bit. I also found some asparagus to try grilling too.

Sounds good man. The wife is in the kitchen making bacon cheeseburgers.

So, my wife likes beer and often comes out to the shop and drinks a couple with me just so we can spend a little time together. She probably only drinks enough to get a good buzz maybe twice a year. Guess I've been spending to much time in the shop lately. She came out tonight and tried to hang. Didn't work out to well for her, shes shitfaced!. Guess that means we need some much deserved "US" time after Blade is over.......bless her heart.

When my wife gets a little too tipsy i take advantage.... I sometimes encourage her to have another, and another, and another... Because i know later in the night the more she had the more ill get HAHA

Well unless she gets to the point of being sick of course. Then I still may take advantage im not even going to lie :D

Its amazing sometimes how much of our shit the wives put up with isn't it? Gets at ya sometimes, but they say ya gotta figure your own balance or some hoopla like that
