So this happened to me last night, hit a bump on my way back from the grocery store.
And now I'm online looking up derailleur hangers and there are so many that fit my model.

I want to punch something.

Yeah I'm doing fine. Managed to keep my balance and everything. The frustrating part is the the broken bike and the fact that there are three different derailleur hangers for my bike model, and I have no idea which one is the one that will fit my bike.

Is there any bike shops you could take it to near you?

A little update on the story I posted yesterday. The woman's granddaughter came to the bank to give us an update on the situation. It's not going too well. She has had a major stroke, as well as some complications. First 48 hours are vital. She should be doing better, but she isn't. Half of her body is paralyzed, and she doesn't respond to people talking. Not by words and not even by looking or tilting her head or something. Was completely absent, mentally, during the rest of the day when I heard that. Pfff

I hope she turns around for the better, I'm sorry to hear that Galeo, wish there was something I could do.

I like Louie CK. Turns out he had a series previously on HBO called "Lucky Louie" that was pretty decent, too. I think there was only one season. I'll have to look up this Jim Jeffries cat y'all are talking about...
 
Ahhh no tracking updates driving me crazy.... 1,000 lashes for any carrier who doesn't update at least every other day!

If it's a replaceable hanger, then there should only be one (or possibly two) that fit that model year frame. I'd make sure you haven't bent up the rear derailleur, whole thing might need replacing....usually the hangers only break when they're torqued up, by a stick or a jammed chain (which can be caused by a bent derailleur cage). And grain of salt from a former bike wrench, but how many miles on that drive train? Can't tell accurately, but it looks like there is a lot of drivetrain/chain wear, which if left unattended might cause similar damage. I'm all for DIY, but make sure you're addressing the the reason why that thing snapped in the first place. At least have a shop (or friend) check the chain wear (or DIY with a caliper); chains stretch and if not replaced will permanently damage all the other drivetrain components. Good luck!

Forget that chain part, yours looks like it's already toast, twisted at the jockey wheel.

Only god knows how things are going to turn out G. The main thing is that you helped to the best of your abilities and you gave her a chance at life. Without you doing what you did she would of died.
 
I just got a box of goodies from UPS. I got a whole pile of stuff to detail/clean my vehicles at home. The touchless car washes just don't do a very good job. I figure that I have the time to do it at home, so I may as well.

I believe it may need a good washing then. With my old pickup it was lucky to get washed a couple times a year. Now that I have a nicer one in really good shape, I want to keep it that way as long as possible. I'm probably going to be driving it for a good ten years.
 
My vehicles get washed whenever it rains, otherwise I'm wasting water in a drought. :D Got a 2.5" wash job last night. :D:D:D:D
 
I'll get my truck washed if the college volly ball or cheerleading teams are doing a fundraiser. Otherwise it's not worth the time.
 
I tried to get my truck washed today. It's been neglected for a year. the mechanized side of the carwash was closed...

I want the full undercarriage treatment, so I'll have to try again.
