Wife is working tonight and the inlaws have the kids because I have to get up early for work tomorrow. Home alone! (with an early bed time). Nice and relaxed :) Great anniversary for me!
 
Picked up the keys for my new apartment today but I have to work the next two nights so I won't be really moving in until Sunday afternoon or Monday. Took all of next week off so I have plenty of time to move everything. Just need to head down to the PO and get my mailbox keys.

So I think I'm gonna just return the CRKT hawk, maybe I'll buy another down the road but for right now I'm just gonna get a refund. The weight is a bit of a turnoff, it's just a hair lighter than my Gerber backpaxe and with the move I don't wanna risk having it get lost in transit while I'm juggling two addresses.

I'd like to see CRKT do one without the hammer poll or with a much smaller one. I think if they lost the hammer poll the weight would be just about right. I'd also like to see longer handles. I know 19" is pretty standard but if they were 22-25" then a person could just chop it down to the length they like.
 
Deep sea fishing tomorrow. Cant wait. Been years since i did any salt water fishing. 3 dollar beers right on the big ass boat, and im going BYOB whiskey in the bag.

We are also going to walk the board walk then pick a nice restaurant to eat at afterwards.

Kids are going to their grandparents. Its a win already LMAO I love the brats but im with them 7 days a week and all day except when they are at school. Breaks are NICE.

Hah ya I love when the kids go to my parents place or the inlaws! Breaks are VERY NICE lol.

I've never been deep sea fishing, I'd like to try it one of these days.
 
Oof, I seem so have slept most of the day away today. I didn't really have anything that needed to be done anyways, so oh well. Its starting to look like I might need to now my lawn for the first time of the year soon. I might have to do it Sunday.

What's everyone up to? I'm thinking I might have to go grab a 6 pack of something to drink tonight.
 
wow.. snark totally dead. i'm still at work for 35 more minutes... ready to go home. a strong drink sounds like a good idea.

got home from work at 10. left the house at 7am. i am so tired of this job. leaves me no energy to play with knives. recharge from the cabin seems like last month even though it was just a few days ago. rrrrrrr. i'm not even sure i have the energy for a beer, much less capitalization. plus, drove ~15 miles in a 50-55 mph zone going 35-40 mph cause someone ahead of me couldn't drive at night in the rain. more rrrrrr. imma try the beer thing, i'll let you know how it works out. if you see a bunch of z's, that means you'll know i fell asleep on my keyboard.

Also had a fire for the first time this year; my little one got to play with her 14, processing some wood for the fire:







 
Those are great photos. How old is she? Gonna work on that with my 9 & 13 year old girls this year. Trying not to kick myself too hard that I haven't yet.
 
Attempted a set of handles for my 14 tonight, a lot harder than I origanaly thought, I got on scale to where I was fairly happy with it then started the other one and royaly screwed it up within the first five minutes:(

Thanks GSOM. She'll be 7 next month. Still not quite strong enough to bite in the wood properly, but it wasn't for lack to trying :) Also spent like 20 mins with the firesteel, but couldn't get any descent sparks to land on the tinder. She felt sad, but then I let her use a lighter so all was good lol. Maybe I'll get her one of those one handed firesteels to try...
 
well. slow night.

i auditioned as it were for a new gig. two rounds. they said yes today. whoop!

course, i still have to say yes, and give the bad news to the chums were i'm at now - it's okay though, things have been tense for ages.

fantastic opportunity, but i may be ... busier for a while. in a good way.

saw the new Godzilla good times.

am now watching the relatively new Gamera movies :D $10 at walmart !!! for 11 gamera movies !!!
