Our world is falling apart.

I just searched for "Paint it Black" on the river store site, and rather than getting the Rolling Stones, the first three things that show up are tanning lotion. The Stones don't show up until the 7th item.

Depressing.

Regarding Glocks, I agree they are a little blocky, but I would, and do, trust my life to one.

If you can get past the .380 round, the new Glock 42 feels amazing in hand.

Also, picked up my Wingmaster today. Seems to be in pretty good shape, and I can't wait to take the plastic off of it.

There should be a law...

I'm very fond of the glocks. If they were smart though they'd start offering interchangeable backstraps with different shapes rather than the spacer system they have. I haven't handled a 42 but the pics I've seen it looks a little large for a .380. Ifit were a 9mm they'd have my attention.

I've never even shot a Glock, but they have felt really good to me when I've handle them. I'll probably end up getting the M&P compact to replace the CW9.

I have never shot one, just fondled them at the LGS. They are about the same size as the M&P Shield. Maybe a little smaller.

we should probably have a special event for everyone that didn't go to the Gathering. those losers.

Yes you should! It really sucks that i didn't get to go but them's the breaks. I hope y'all are having a great time and taking lots of pictures.

Glock and M&P are pretty much the default go-to whenever someone asks what their first handgun should be. Solid reputation and easy to re-sell if you change your mind later. I haven't shot an M&P in a long time but I wouldn't mind owning one. I already have two glocks though so I figure I might as well just stick with them as a go-to platform. Need to get me a G19 soon. I love my 17 but it's just a scosh big for CC.

I'm trying to remember but I think the shield had a feature or two that were deal breakers for me. I forget though. Honestly I personally haven't found a need for anything smaller than a G26. Love that little gun.

Totally. At a nice central location, like Colorado maybe.

That's cool. I'm obviously no expert on guns, but unless the thing is just completely worn out, I really don't see how you could go wrong on that deal.

In other news, I'll be heading out to the Gathering in a few hours. I am nervous as a cat in a room full of rocking chairs about leading the Grind-In... I've never taught a single person to do this before,, much less a roomful of heavily-armed Beckerheads. Thank goodness Todd and Matt and others will be there to help... Wish me luck! :D

Morning fellas... coffee is kicking in and Friday is looking pretty promising.

One day I will make it to one of the gatherings or maybe have a South Central gathering... anyway, I look forward to the pics and stories.

Host it and they will come. (Unless you plan for it to be a tent camping event in June, July, August, or September). Call me weak, but I like air conditioning in those months.

It is in pretty good shape, considering the age. I can see Great Grandpa's shotgun underneath all the plastic.

Good luck at the Grind-In. Make sure you take a couple pulls of bourbon to calm your nerves.:D

Have fun everyone.

Guess who got his new handles in? This guy! :D

I really like those colors, apparently they're not even dyed that's how the wood was, pretty neat stuff..

I've made it exceedingly clear that all participants must be completely sober while operating power tools, and I will repeat that adamantly during the Safety Lecture before we begin.

I didn't say nothin' about the instructors being sober... :D
