I have postponed the idea of fashioning a bow drill perhaps for now, or indefinitely, whichever proves most indispensable, in favor of a more not-so-portable "sensitive" drill. The machine shop professor called them sensitive anyway.

I'm sure it will prove useful in creating enough wood friction to initiate combustion, need to test that...

well, darwin... just keep apprised, and you could get a nice chainsaw for free. clean the blood off fast though, it stains the chain.
 
That's good advice, but don't you think a nice blood ofnthe innocent patina would look good on it?
 
Just spent a few hours freehand sharpening the kitchen knives. So rewarding. Life is good!

All good down here in Carbondale. Light rain most of the day. Flash floods last weekend, though. Probably more flooding in the next few days if it rains like it says.

We have three more days of rain on the sched. Rivers and creeks are high and many folks are dealing with flooded basements. Not ideal, to say the least.
 
supposedly we are done with rain for a few days - so it may dry out enough to mow the lawn friday or saturday.

Still raining here. Did get the lawn mowed yesterday though. Supposed to rain until the morning hours.
 
Very nice! I'm kind of surprised you don't have a light box already Dubz. It makes indoor pictures not suck QUITE so bad.
 
OHHHHHH! That makes more sense then.

Those are sweet pictures. I love macro shots. They take so long to set up though I hardly ever bother with them.
