The Spydie Wegner. Sounds like a bolt action when it opens. Awzum.

Where else but BF can one go to see so many people talking about how folding knives sound!?!?!?!!!!!!! Hmmm...does the existence of this topic support Gore's claim to inviting the internet? But I digress...

I've got to go with my Busse Basic #9 as the best sounding, which I modified by converting to a gas-driven piston folder. Got an 9 point buck last month just by the sound of it locking with nuclear toughness!

TWRA gave me heck, though, for using a non-standard hunting device.

I am truly suprised that no one has mentioned the Commander yet. The shwthact-like sound that it makes when waved is an attention getter. Of course, so is instantly having a massive folder with wicked looking recurve appear in the opened position in your hand.

I really do love the sound of a solid locking mechanism thundering into place. It is music to my ears. If I only had more than two hands, then I could have my own tactical folder musical ensemble (sp?)....

Even though I sent it back, the Trident sounded like you were slamming a vault door shut, big, solid, and steel.

Balisongs of course, sweet and they make a song as they don't JUST open but are poetry in motion, working mine right now actually!

I have a Gerber Gator that opens with one
hell of a SH-CLACK. Great sound. Lately I
have really enjoyed the sound of all-metal
knives, such as SOCOMs and MOD folders, as
when you nail a perfect thumb-push opening
with a little side motion, the blade does a
nice ringing SH-CLICK with the handle giving
a nice metallic resonance... beautiful.

The heavy blade on a spyderco starmate makes such a nice sound when snapped open....love it. And when you did that, you think the liner's about on the other side, because you snapped it open soooo hard, only to see that the liner is still in the same position as when you gently open it.
Most linerlocks can be opened very smoothly and nearly soundless, but the starmate can't. The liner is so strong, it always makes a whack.
