The Spyderco Pochi is adorable

The Street Price of $189 is expensive for a 1.5" blade (even if it is S45VN and Ti clad).

A lot of other more useful knives that you could buy for that price but I'm sure there is a certain type of buyer who just can't live w/o it.

I'm having a hard time finding why this one was designed. What market is it going towards?

I imagine they are targeting the same people who buy dodos, collectors. Women and animal lovers will probably find it attractive also. I pre-ordered one. Will i carry it? Highly doubtful as my zt 0560 is more my size for carry. Will it go on my desk as decoration and conversation piece? Dam right it will.

People asking why, and I say why not? I'm not going to buy one because I only buy users, but I think it's a cool little knife. Between the materials used, what is likely going to be a low volume made, complexity of the design, and the fact it's a custom collaboration, the price doesn't seem out of line.

Maybe it’s a good novelty gift for a rich guy, but I’m not one so I’ll pass.

Spyderco finally got them in stock on their website so I ordered one. My current work place limits blades to less than 2.5" so this will be in good company with my McBee. I also got it for $135 due to the 50% military discount. I probably wouldn't have paid much more than that.

PICS!

I'll definitely post some after it arrives, supposedly on the 23rd. I'm anxious to compare it to my McBees.
I also got a pretty good deal on a Grimsmo Norseman that should arrive the same day. It will be a good Monday.

Yet again, I have to find a different place to store my photos to share online so this might not display properly.

It might be cute but that is about all I can say for it. I see no practical use, at least not for me. I know it will appeal to some folks, thought, and more power to them. It is just not for me.

True, I just think its cool too that they make some off the wall stuff.

A truly polarizing design and I think it's great Spyderco does do "outside the box" type designs. I respect the company for that kind of thinking. That being said, I'm totally not into it. To whomever is into it, have fun. I'll look forward to the thoughts provided by the folks that do pick one up. It's intriguing if anything.

I'd prob pick up one used. I have a ton of 3" blades, don't like blades any longer than though, but sub 2", will that's an untapped market for me.

Pochi arrived!
I really like this. I don’t like it as much as the McBee from a functional standpoint but it’s pretty neat. It’s beautifully made and will make a great collector’s knife if nothing else. It is perfectly usable though.
