The Strider Nail

Because many of us here don't separate the people or person behind the product from the product. Who makes the knives IS related to the knife by the way.
You are of course entitled(as well as others) to both your opinion and your choice on where you spend your money. It might even be the proper choice(going by your moral compass) and I certainly see the basis for it, but dang I love the SnG(PT and SMF not bad either). Not going to get me going out on the limb for the Nail though.
So while I fully understand your position, I just can't follow-call it self serving or what you will. It would be hard for me to dump my SnG-much easier for those that don't like it or like it as much.
People do eventually seem to get back to the product vs the history, but it might take a generation to do. For many years there was a resistance to buying German cars stemming from World War II

The difference being Volkswagen admitted guilt and apologized. Has Mick strider? No. Instead he continues to pretend he was an army ranger while profiting from the sacrifice of real soldiers.

Like I've said many many times, forgiveness with out atonement is foolish and blind. You forgive him or just don't care if you like. He's not sorry.

Actually the morality of knifemakers is part of what this forum is about, and the official stance here against cloners demonstrates that.
Yes, but clearly clones are a whole other topic and my point is not related to that. And it is not against forum rules to own a strider knife. So apples and oranges my friend.
Look at the users that post on whine and cheese. And you want to discuss knife makers morality?
Maybe we all need to look in the mirror closer and see we aren't as righteous as we all make ourselves out to be.
I do not for a second condone MS for his actions.
But if someone is simply a fan of his products and gets hammered on for that, well clearly we aren't separating products from people. And if thats the case, lets all take a bath together and scrub out our own shames.

Where to begin? (And end?)

1) It's not against the rules here to own a clone knife either. So that argument doesn't hold water.
2) I do want to discuss knife makers' morality. I do not want to discuss the other members. That is against the rules.
3) I happen to be passionate about knives and the people who make them. I have no desire to separate the two.
4) If you and others are able to separate them, good for you.
5) Good day.

So posting in w&c is the equivalent of being a dishonorably discharged scum bag who started a company based on lies and continues to profiting from that lie?

There are no words for how idiotic that is.

Bringing up whine and cheese was silly in and of itself.

You dont want to discuss other members but are happy to see others discuss and rag on a member for liking a particular knife. Okay logic/10

Nope. I do not mean that at all.
If you just scrape the surface of W&C and see the comments people leave about others and express their character by the way they speak about others, you can see that they need to take a huge leap off their moral high horses.

It's not against forum rules to own a clone either. It's really not apples and oranges. Clones and striders are made by immoral a-holes, if you want to buy one then go ahead, but when you try to advertise them here don't be surprised when someone calls you out for supporting a scum bag.

It’s not against forum rules to own a clone either. But it is against forum rules to promote cloned knives. So what is your point?

W&C is also irrelevant to the point: an egregious attempt at moral equivalence that will not fly on here. The owner of this forum went to great lengths to unpick the real story on Micky Burger, and regardless of whether you can be bothered to read what he uncovered, which is entirely up to you, the fact remains that the owner of this forum does not condone Micky Burger nor his products, which are fraudulently marketed using stolen valour.

So, until you do bother reading it, I would suggest you cease bleating about it. And if in the meantime you wish to run to the aid of Micky Burger apologists, well then it rather leads one to ask, “Why?”

I have never owned a strider ha. I just find it unusual that people pick on a user who does. Especially with the way they conduct themselves around here. Hypocrisy at its finest.

I do not see anyone on here defending or apologising for MS? I see users saying his products are good regardless of what he is like. If they bought a MS knife, tested it and concluded it was good, then found out the truth about him, should they then say his knife sucks? No logic in that.

I have no idea if he is sorry or not, but have certainly not seen a public apology of any sort. I doubt there ever will be-that is just the way he is, and don't expect me to explain some of the things he does and says.

You are quite marvellously missing the point. There are a few things that are largely frowned on here, one of which is clones, another is Micky Burger. W&C, on the other hand, is not only tolerated but was created by the owner of this forum. One of the rules of this forum is that you do not drag W&C into GKD, so well done for that.

For there to be hypocrisy going on here, the ribaldry of W&C would need to be morally equivalent to stolen valour heaped upon felony. Guess what? It isn’t and they aren’t.

Dude. You are missing the point. A user is getting ripped on for liking a product not MS. He simply concludes it is a good product. No one here is defending MS.
Again I ask; if you concluded a product was good after testing before finding out what MS did, would you then turn around and say his product sucks? Thats what it seems like you guys expect.

Righhht. Yet you defend and bandwagon against people who started threads about a knife they paid for years ago and didn't receive...

Ok guy. By the way, more than a few mods post in w&c ;)
