The sumptuous Swell Center - a traditional form within the pattern

Thanks Gev!
The knives in some of you guys collections simply blow my mind! A lot of fantastic oldies here!

Here's the first one I could find, the 2010 forum knife, first with the 10 dot tang stamp.

That is one fine Southington! It sure has it all and done so well! I love it.

I agree! I've always liked the Case '83 whittler. This Catt. is a close cousin.

Thanks for fixing that Gev, and thanks Will and Charlie. I really like the Ulsters and the Southington knives but there are lots of good examples here.

High Time to revive this thread of yours Gev.

Some luck yesterday when the Postman left this for me on the doormat

Winchester Black Box Whittler (Queen made) from 1989. The bone on these is really something, I heard in an old thread that it was a stash of Rodgers Bone that Queen got hold of for this run and that it was from the 1920s. If this is true, it explains a lot....Fantastic compact Whittler with a really decent blade arrangement, Clip master and Pen Small Clip minors. Impressive W&T, small gap and very slight play but all in all it's verging on Grail Territory. Can't leave it alone....:D

Yes indeed...a fine specimen!!! Interesting note on the bone. You must be grinning from ear to ear :D. Looking forward to seeing more of it.

Thanks for the revival and let us hope some more folks post some of their treasure ;)

Will is this your first Winchester? Beware this is addictive!

Thanks everyone, most pleased with this Whittler.

JP Actually, it's my third, already have the Stockman and Coffin Jack :D:cool: What I really want is one of the blade at each end ones, but very hard to find, sigh!

I know it's really hard to see from the picture, but this knife has a very slight swell on the inside of the frame, just in front of the nick.

Not really sure what to call this pattern? Any ideas?

Nice looking knife. The book definition would be swell center regular jack. A lot of trappers and folding hunters were made with this shape. It is extremely popular.
