The Sunday Picture Show... (2-26-2017) <OLD SHOW LOOK AT DATE>

You guys are setting the bar high again this Sunday. These are really nice knives, all of them.

Haebbie, those pewter scales are unique. I like them very much. Do you know where they were made?

As always some wonderful Buck knives to start the show so far and I'm sure there are lots more to come. Thanks to everyone for posting:thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:

MT, Unfortunately I do not have every model in Mastodon, my collection is far from complete but I am always looking to add to it.:thumbup: It has been some time since I've added anything new:(:(

Haebbie, Thanks for your compliments on my piece of Mastodon I displayed a few weeks back. Since I haven't found any new Mastodon Knives I bought that cross cut section to display with my knives. The whole thing looked like the bottom so I took some sandpaper to it in order to get the top side lookin a little cleaner:thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:

Here are a few shots of a 1997 532 with Mastodon handles

Man, lot of pictures up early this Sunday - good stuff! I acquired a couple of NOS Buck pocketknives from the Camillus era this past week; a 301 and a 313. OH

Again, ITE, thanks to you and all that participate. I have grown to appreciate the 192 family and have added several recently. As always, great knives, great show!

The top three, I believe, I have shown before. The bottom one, most recently because I have an accumulation of 100 Year Anniversary knives, didn't have one and so added this 2002 692. Here's the family photo. Preston

elqfaltaba10-- Here is what I want to look for on your Magnolia, the 440c, bos heat treat, and number. All of the anniversary knives should be numbered 1-500. All sets 1-110 are followed by a D

Can anyone answer this, Why would somebody take and break apart a 50th Anniversary set and sell the knives individually for far less than the whole set. I purchased this knife after noticing the knife came from a broken up set. Paid $125. I was going to wait but I had to show my set and I decided to see if anyone has the reason for separating a numbered set worth more together than apart. Thank You Very Much.

The easy answer is someone acquired a set at little or no cost, maybe inherited it or found it at a yard sale, stole it, who knows and found it easier/faster to sell individual knives rather than a buyer for the set. Best bet though would be to ask the person you bought it from.

Edited to self correct myself.:D

Thank You Badhammer,
I hate to think that it could be stolen, I bought it some time ago and never kept a record from who.

This one just arrived yesterday. Buck Knives 110 Black Micarta Aluminum Lightweight Folding Hunter 110BKSSH3 from Copper & Clad.

My first Aluminum, it is light and it is just right. I do still prefer the heavy ones, but this has it's place. In particular, pocket carry with dress pants for work. Two :thumbup:

I can't drive 55 :D

I would my left n_t to say something right now.

Buckshack,
I have both models 110 aluminum, I too prefer the heavier ones. I may just pass them along as gifts.

There are three now. This is the latest, the Black Micarta. The other two are Black Paperstone and Macassar Ebony.

I believe there is a purpose for every knife, that's why I keep them all. Wearing dress pants with a heavy 110 is pushing it, yet I want a 110 with me always. Aluminum will work for me.

With the aluminums I have #'s 35 and 37. It doesn't seem that they are as popular as people make the weight issue seem.

I didn't know about the Micarta thank's for the heads up. I was taking into account the #'s from mine compared to yours. The Micarta is doing well then. I just assumed that they only made the first two.

No, BuckShack, Buck offered these knives regularly. 3000 of each have been made. I have no idea who made the scales for Buck.
May be Buck made them by themself.

Haebbie
