The Sunday Picture Show... (5-25-2014) ... (Memorial weekend)

ITE, thanks for another SPS! I hope everyone is enjoying their weekend, with thanks to those who have kept us free to enjoy our weekends!
I finished my new deck last weekend, and decided to start enjoying it today, by taking some pics of all my new 50th Anniversary versions.

absolutley beautiful knives.......Gedlinks and thanks for sharing them. Love the Bison photo. Theres nothing like seeing this magnificant creatures Giddy Up an Go! all at once....across the rolling plains or hills like here In Massachusetts. A Dr I know owned a Farm in the South Dakota with a herd of Bison an wild excotic cats, tigers! he sold the farm after coming down with walking pneumonia, he almost died. The farm became to much for him an he sold it off. Here in RUTLAND Massachusetts the Mann family has a Bison farm, and I got see the the Bison a few times go off in a stampede down the rolling hills on the farm kicking up dust through the suns rays! It was spectacular!!!! Godly.....

Alta Vista was carved out of the New England forest on a hill in the town of Rutland in 1724. For the next 225 years, the farm was primarily a livestock and dairy farm. It was bought by the Mann Family in 1951 and named Alta Vista, meaning high view. The farm was operated as a dairy farm until 1965. The bison arrived in the Fall of 1968 with the purchase of two heifer calves from South Dakota.

Alta Vista Bison Farm is a place of beauty that the Mann family shares with many people. The magnificent bison have brought many people together to learn and to teach.

Thanks Scott H, for sharing all your different 110's... Just sweet... Great pictures too...
And your welcome, the SPS wouldn't work with out guys like you... Who are willing to share...

Thanks again, ITE ... :thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:

Great pictures of all the new and old Buck Knives and thanks for the great comments on my 2 WBC Vanguards. They are even better in person.

Here I have a Buck 560 with black handles and a gold coated blade. Not sure what the coating is, if anybody knows and can let me know that would be greatly appreciated.

As you can see by the pictures only 1 side of the blade has been sharpened.

The gold blade color doesn't show up real well in the pictures. It is a fairly light gold tone.

I think they call it pro gold???? It's a lighter gold tone then the Buckcote.

Happy Memorial Day weekend everyone and great show. Love those red white and blues.

For my addition to this weeks Buck Knives picture show I have a couple of Buck Vanguards with buffalo cutouts by WBC also known as Wild Bill Cody. Although I think they are beautifully done I don't think they would work very well on actually skinning a buffalo.

Thanks for sharing them on the SPS... ITE ...

Went for a hike through Appleton Farms today and brought along a few friends.

While I'm posting I have question for Scott. What is the deal with the "Magnolia" 110? Looks like a 110 from the late 70's to 80's.

Continuing the 110 Build Out series.

You're spot on, that's a new release for the 50th Anniversary of the 110, made to resemble the 110's made while Buck Knives was located at 1717 North Magnolia Avenue in El Cajon.

ITE. Armand I like that Spirit of 76 knife in stag. When did they make those in stag? Is it a limited edition or a build out?

Bucktool that is a great looking 110. I really like the looks of the palmwood scales.:thumbup::thumbup::)

I look forward to seeing what everyone will post on this thread each week. Thanks to all and thanks for all your help regarding the gold coating on my 560.

Very sweet I.T.E.!!!
Leroy did 1 for me several years ago, as a fund raiser/raffle knife, for my father's chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution.
Leroy used moose antler, and did a super fantastic job....as usual.
