The Sunday Picture Show... (5-25-2014) ... (Memorial weekend)

That is a sweet one for sure!
What model is it?? Or is it an original for the limited edition?

Thanks Chris, I can't find a model number on it... It was made for the 20th reunion... They made 50 of them...
The first one they made back in 1976... No model number... In the special Project catalog it just has Bowie for a model #...

ITE. Armand I like that Spirit of 76 knife in stag. When did they make those in stag? Is it a limited edition or a build out?

I look forward to seeing what everyone will post on this thread each week. Thanks to all and thanks for all your help regarding the gold coating on my 560.

Thanks James, it was made for the 20th reunion... made in 2008... 50 were made... ITE ...

Very sweet I.T.E.!!!
Leroy did 1 for me several years ago, as a fund raiser/raffle knife, for my father's chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution.
Leroy used moose antler, and did a super fantastic job....as usual.

Thanks Scott, man I like that one too... With that Finger guard... sweet...:thumbup::thumbup:

Habbie, The bottom vulture is a Black Vulture.

US, I think Hognose was right, likely the only way I could have proven it to you was to catch it, grab it by the head and open its mouth with a stick and look for fangs. Little growths on a adult snake that large just happen. The other way to tell is get a stick and mess with the Hognose enough and it will play dead.

That's some amazing gold etched knives!!! Thanks for sharing!

Habbie, The bottom vulture is a Black Vulture.

That's my opinion too. I had a discussion with my wife Carina. She is ornithologist
and she said that it is a juvenile Turkey Vulture. I agree with you. 2 : 1 for a Black
Vulture. Thank you. ;) :)

The legend, someday I'm gonna have to get me one of these.......I was looking at some of these, US CAMILLUS 1967 Jet Pilot Survival Fighting Knife, but I was hesitant/tentative to pull the trigger. I want a 184 just because of BUCK launching the 184 BuckMaster trying to appeal to the Navy Seal Teams & Army, but then this happened! ~RAMBO~ took the country by storm in 1985 an BUCK sold 57,000 Buck Master knives & earned 5 Million in gross profit. It also allowed BUCK to surpass their 1981 sales record a year before the recession of 1982. So I want it for its mark on history and that decade.

thanks for sharing BuckMe .....great knife!

My vote is for the top bird being a Turkey Vulture and the bottom a Black Vulture.

With the exception of the coral snake all native american venomous snakes have pupils like cat eyes. Others have round pupils. While his coloration is very different than the hognose's we have in FL, I would have to go with hognose also, based on the shape of his head/nose and the round pupils.
While I don't mind picking up and handling snakes, I'm sure not taking the chance with a rattler, even though I could probably do so safely. and wouldn't recomend anyone else.

Coral Sankes my dad gets those in AZ, st8yd, its always been my understanding the obvios according to locals the difference is the Hognose does not have a Rattle.....and their head shape is also slightly different. The snake that caem our from the wood pile had a rattle and I swear had a noise to it....But I'm no snake expert either.....LOL
