Sorry about some of the pics-cold in the house with A/C but the sun just came out after a morning of rain and boy is it humid out

This is my very first Buck knife bought new in 1969 or 1970. My plan was to buy a 110, but when I saw the 119 for the same price, I couldn't resist:D

Back then my buddies and I spent a LOT of time 4-wheelin, camping, shooting, etc., and I used this knife pretty hard. Where we made a campsite, there was a huge old dead tree, we scratched a target into the trunk, and threw our knives at it! That had caused some hairline cracks in the black phenolic handle.

When I found bladeforums and the Buck forum, I emailed Joe Houser regarding getting the handle repaired. I inquired about getting a piece of stag instead of the phenolic and this is how the knife came back:D

It is SO NICE, I haven't used it since!

Peter

Peter, I don't think I would use it either... That stag on that 119 looks great ... ITE ...

The drop point 111 compares a lot more to the other "classics".

Heres my contribution :D
Thank you for the fantastic knife Dave! I used it alot yesterday cleaning up the garage and basement after all the rain and that Sandvik is some great stuff! I absolutely love the new shift mechanism! The Paradigm is a hit with me! ;) Same exact ergos and shape as the Vantage, but assisted! Great blade!

Jim, cool pics and a nice knife... Thanks for sharing... ITE ... :D

Here is the ultimate 903. It's got a brass topped MP blade, and stag shoes, #60 out of 100 made. This is a hard one to photograph as it's so reflective!

My old (?) 110 after getting the blade replaced that had the tip broken off and refurbishing by Buck. I just wish the blade could have been saved.

That has had me puzzled for years, why not a drop point on the 111 Classic. The other 3 had them. Haebbie, thanks for perfecting that 4 knife series
