Buck Workman came in several models. ITEs 303 are a couple of the earliest made for that series. Workman named the 303 the Multi-300, the 309 the Multi-200 and the 305 Multi-100. They came in clam packs and boxes. And the blades pad print came in two styles.

The ealiest I am showing is 1987 - 305 but the first mention I can find in a catalog is 1991. The oldest I have is a 1986 303 with black scales. No mention of Workmen after the 1997 catalog price list.
I think the Workman models were a attempt to enter the lumber yard and appliance parts suppliers maybe to compete with the likes of Klien Tools. I have kept no records but my gut feeling is the 303 is the most poplar Workman of the Multi numbered series.

300Bucks, Thanks for the info. More for me to look for now... Great picture... and all the workman knives are sweet... When is your book coming out??? ITE ....:thumbup::thumbup:

Herbert, did you figger out a name for your pooch in the avitar yet ?

No, Fritz, it's hard to find a matching name.
The Family has four heads and eight opinions.
Just now I call him "Hund" and my li'l daughter Nele copies that.
But Carina and Henri are horrified because of this banal name.

If anybody has an idea ...

Best,
Haebbie

Boy you guys are getting really good at talking Pictures, with lots of good idea... With all these Beautiful knives what more do we need.... More pics... :D ... ITE

That has had me puzzled for years, why not a drop point on the 111 Classic. The other 3 had them. Haebbie, thanks for perfecting that 4 knife series

Yes, Scott, I couldn't understand that too.

It is a pitty, that the drop piont blade of the "real" big classic is not polishend
like the others.

Best,
Haebbie

Haebbie, how about BUCK... ... ITE

Well, ITE, a short moment I had the idea too.
But my proper respect for the Buck family is forbidding to use the name for a dog.
The better way is to use a name of a Buck knife, like Duke or Squire.

I tell you, when the white smoke comes out of the chimney.

Best,
Haebbie
