Makael Makael Mike, you can't just post those pictures of the yellow handled Intrepids without telling us something about them.
You come up with interesting stuff sometines.
I'm not sure of the history other than the yellow is kinda cool and I'm not sure if they were an option or was it Buck playing around with colors back then.
No date codes on either knife. Buck on one and no model numbers on either. Possibly prototypes? Very nice and some of my favorites. Some pics as someone may have more information.

I do need two sheaths.20210321_095052.jpg 20210321_095057.jpg 20210321_095101.jpg 20210321_095107.jpg 20210321_095121.jpg 20210321_095127.jpg 20210321_095154.jpg 20210321_095159.jpg 20210321_095205.jpg

Makael Makael Great pictures Mike. FYI...the Intrepids never did have model # or date codes.

Dive knife was one of the suggested uses, the yellow color would have made more sense in that application. I think the chisel point option may have been geared toward that also as a tool for digging and prying. I think you may be right, they were prototype handles.

Those are nice.
I can recommend a great sheath maker..... in fact you may know him.

I've seen pic's of a sheath you made for a yellow handled knife, and the sheath has yellow stitching.
That is really cool.

Gotcha, thanks, I went back and looked again:thumbsup: I was lead astray by the band around them that looks to be where the bullet would be seated in the case. What confused me was the fact that there is no flange/channel around the base of them. Even rimless cartridges have that channel. I should have known:oops:

These are tips with winding to screw them on the tapered wood shaft. The band rifles gives more grip for the screwing tool.
