When the tumbled finish of the steel looks dark like that it really looks good. Wow, nice. May have to reconsider color schemes of future purchases here...
 
Hey guys, it's been a while since I checked in. So it seems the Minister for War and Finance has decreed that I can spend the proceeds of the sale of my Honda Civic on knives so I think a 3.5 is going to be in my future (or so the crystal ball says). I would dearly love a 10 as well but because the Australian Ruble is so darn pez compared to your American Drachma unfortunately this will just be a pipe dream. I'm sure I could scrape together the funds but I really want to buy some tools so I can mod some of my Beckers (you blasphemous fool! You dare mention the B word on the S! Forum!!! Ha! <smite smite smite>) Anyway, I hope to be as cool as you guys soon. One of us. One of us.

Oh, and just because this is a super cool chat thread, have a look at what I saw the other night on tele. Interesting programs (the show after the one highlighted) but check out what channel it's on. Yeps. This is how Aussies roll..

That's funny about the late night TV programming. I was just saying to my wife the other day " I'd like to make as much money as possible and I don't care if it's legal or not!"

At least our Aussie ruble hasn't yet reached the hyperinflation levels of the country I'm originally from (Zimbabwe)!

I'm patiently waiting for my pre-ordered 4.7. I'd lurv to also purchase the 10 and 12, but those happen to be the two most expensive knives in the range :(
 
Taking those screws out w/ a pocket driver would be very difficult. Mine were tough w/ a full size screwdriver. Always work on the back side/ nut side.

Hey, I saw that Tuareg on Mario's FB page! :thumbup: I've kept an eye on his work since a "Companion" he listed on the exchange a year or so ago, nice looking stuff. How's the edge-thickness, comparable to the 4.1 or thinner?

CG It's actually a funny story, I had long admired his amazon style knife, but wasn't thrilled with the handle and was trying to tweak the design, about that same time he released a newer style called the "juma", I liked its handle but not the blade profile. I did a little photoshop and combined the two (both were 9" knives). I talked a little bit with Mario and we got it done, after I placed my order I think he came up with the name Tuareg, which is a pretty cool name! The blade is almost exactly the same thickness as a 4.1, but since the grind is a high flat grind, it's a bit thinner at the edge. It just came in today so I'm still fondling it!

Hahaha! I bet she looked at you real funny when you said that too! Yes, there will an obscene amount of pitchers when it arrives. Just gotta get rid of this car now!

Yeah its still not great though and seems to be getting worse. Oh well. Like you said, others have it worse..

HK my brother! Yeah I think a 3.5 would be a great first too. It looks so versatile. I've got big blades already so a do-it-all smaller fella would be wicked cool to pair with a big guy. Trust me peeps, you will all be the first to know when I've got one. I can tell you know I'm going to be a royal pain in the bungholio..
