I just got a 3.5 "second" directly from S!K... but the thing appears flawless. I don't know how it missed QC... but Guy is known for his attention to detail. He must see something I don't. I'm not sure if I could even if he pointed it out to me.Man you don't know how close I came to pulling the trigger on a second (firsts are gone). Guess I better get out and show the 3.5 some love, ha!

I'm brand new to this community, but have been chasing after a 4.1 for almost 2 years. I have 2 4.1s and a 4.7 on order through Starter.
Well, since I ordered 4 knives at once (3.5, 2X 4.1, 4.7) I am stretched pretty thin... I just discovered this place existed. Had I known, I may not have gone with Starter. Either way, I'm enjoying my 3.5 while I wait. I'm very excited to grow my S!K rotation of blades. Thanks for the welcome! I'm glad to be here... maybe I will even earn my #before long.Hey man, welcome to the forum. If you're looking for a 4.1 you might shoot Standard78 a PM. He had one listed awhile back that didn't show sold in the thread.
Yes, I am watching every week. It's the best survival show I've seen, and it's cool to see a couple guys from YouTube on there.Any SURVIVORS! watching Alone on the History Channel?
I watched the first 2 episodes on the History Channel app which worked well for me because I don't have cable. I was pretty entertained. The show seems way less gimmicky than a lot of other, similar style shows.
Yea I like the two flat heads. I can't complain about the new ones cause I don't have any yet, but I already carry a flathead on my multi-tool and some washers in my kit. I'm looking at what I gotta pack to accommodate breaking a scale or some other unforeseen reason I would need to remove them in the woods. But this standard looks promising.
I was looking at a new multi-tool like a LM wave or something with a bit driver.

Thank you! I considered staying with this color scheme across all of my knives on order, but decided to branch out. One jade, one camo G10, one camo micarta. I would like to have a Spring FDE sheath (I think that's what it was called) for my new 4.1, but that was only offered for a season. It was a sage green shade.Congrats and welcome to the forum! That's a great looking 3.5!
I may take one of every configuration.Variety is a good thing!
Welcome! Nice to see you diving into various discussions. I need to watch the latest episode today, but I've really been enjoying this series. They don't seem to rely on gimmicks like other shows. I just wish the fear of predators wasn't as strong of a factor so we could see 10 guys all staying or going based on their skills. I've liked Joe, Alen, Lucas and Mitch.Yes, I am watching every week. I fancy myself a versatile survivalists, but truly wonder how long I would last with the wolves, grizzlies, and mountain lions in such a dense concentration... and the psychological drain of being ALONE without human interaction and no end in sight is pretty overwhelming, I'm sure.
What do you guys think? (Those watching the show especially)
Great find. I've been thinking of a way to get 2 L shaped torx keys stashed on the sheath. I did some light googling, but couldn't find any specs on what you had a pic of. How long are they?I'll have to start looking into a good multi-tool just in case. I doubt there'll ever be an issue with the new screws, but there's always a chance. I was thinking about getting one of those bits and seeing if it would fit in the spot where the rubber washer is at between the sheath and the clip. I doubt that opening is big enough though.
Excellent planI may take one of every configuration.
And HK yes they are from U812. I like helping the lil guy with lil things when I can. He did a great job on them.
Welcome to the forum defense. Nice combinations you picked. I wish I could get 10 of each but my wife may get me with one if I did that. Lol.

And silver try hitting up your local hardware store. I use small washers. And when not in use they go in my tin. Before I started carrying the tin I had them on a piece of gutted para cord. With a knot on both sides to keep any noise down. Works well but you do have to have them tight enough to stay on and loose enough to get off if you need too.
The Esee Strike Fire has a washer for removal of the scales. It has fire tinder and a ferro rod between the scales and the skeletonized tang. It's there for a true emergency when all you have is your life. (As if any of US in this forum would ever be that unprepared. LOL)Good advice on the washer. I just didn't know if it would be different from when I tried the coins. To get a round object to work, would I have to almost grind out the edge of the micarta around the screw? That's what it felt like with the penny.

The screw slots on the more open side (American Flag side) seem so shallow. I was trying to think of something square like a screw driver head, but flat that could be ranger banded to the sheath and still keep a low profile.Just gotta get the right diameter. Nothing too large to ruin the micarta, but also keep in mind its just for emergency use. Only if you need it. Hell od take my knife with me but then again I don't see me getting odd looks around here.

To cut down on noise, drop a loop of paracord through the washer, then drop the tag end back through. It's a simple knot that's easily undone when needed.
