I live in Point of Rocks and the drifts are easily 5-6 feet deep in front of my house. The back yard also has huge drifts in them, but there is a place where the grass is showing. The wind is insane right now so i am not sure what the actual totals are going to be in spots with no drifts. I am sure schools will be closed for at least 3 days, maybe more. It started snowing yesterday around 1330 and has not slowed down since. It is 1920 as I type
Must... subtract 12:00........ to understand................
Way to go super dad. You are more outnumbered than I'll ever be. A 5 month old in the mix? Wow!
She went in last night and has been there all day today, will be there all night tonight and all day tomorrow. They had people not make it in this morning. Personally I think they all should have gone in last night. The hospital blocked off rooms for all the nurses to stay and paid them $8.00 an hour just to be there when they werent actually working. When their shift starts they are all getting time and a half. It sucks to be stuck here with a 6 yo, 4 yo and 5 month old baby but, wifey is making buku bucks. She thinks that she is gonna get home tomorrow, but as far as I can tell they arent even plowing around here. The snow is almost 3 feet deep in the middle of the street in my neighborhood. The highway might be clear, but she wont get into the neighborhood for sure.
Yea the wife went in friday at 9 am and will likely be there until sunday evening or monday...the money is no joke, but if we had three kids that would be tough!
Lando could use a few lessons in that, he was really excited until he got stuck then he just looked at me with that "f-this" face. Definitely not as hardy as a hunting dog!
Lando, that's a great dog name. Well if he gets stuck in the snow at least you can find him by his tail. Kinda like the flags they put on those dune buggies.![]()
H minus... There is a great thread on the kabar utility knife (just a kabar without the usmc stamp and a differdnt pommel) in the edged tools section of another forum that is dedicated to bushcrafting in the usa. They are a respectable blade for sure, with great history.
OriginalLawDog said:Has anyone else had any bad experiences with Survive! www.SurviveKnives.com? I placed a pre-order for their 3.5 on June 8, 2015. Their site clearly states pre-orders take 3-6 months. On January 6, 2016, I had enough and decided to cancel this pre-order. I called and left a message, emailed them from the confirmation email, posted a comment on their Facebook page, and used their own "contact us" form on their website and heard nothing back for a week. In the meanwhile thinking I would never hear from them, I started a dispute with my credit card company. The next day Survive emailed me and said they'd refund me my money via Paypal, but I'd have to cancel the dispute first. They said they'd give me a refund, but not two. Apparently they were not familiar with this process. Needless to say I wasn't comfortable doing that and I emailed Survive again requesting they reconsider. They would have proof via Paypal that they sent me the refund that they could use to show the credit card company if they thought I was some dirtbag. They did not respond. I took a chance with them. I pre-ordered and prepaid $169 to them that they've sat on for over seven months and they won't do the right thing. So, now I have to wait 45 days for the dispute process. Buyer beware I guess...
Hard Knocks said:Hello Law Dog,
Actually, their website states this:
"Disclaimer: We do not have a set delivery date for preordered knives, be sure to sign up for our newsletter to receive regular production updates."
I'm sorry for your trouble, but as for having to wait 45 days, I've got to disagree. They have offered a refund, but you refused to drop the dispute. Drop the dispute and they will issue the refund. They are a stand-up company that gets too optimistic on their delivery times. But in this case, Ellie made no promises on delivery on the starter orders.
Also, like Riz, I'm not trying to be a jerk here, but this is better put in a new thread, not the pic thread. Hang around and check things out. It might alleviate a few of your fears and show you what the company is about.
Cheers
Totally not trying to be a douche but I think we should bump this conversation to the chat thread. Too much words, not enough pics... I am guilty of it too...
OriginalLawDog said:Hello Hard Knocks,
I understand completely how dates get pushed back for multiple issues. Had they simply replied to one of my multiple attempts at communicating with them, I wouldn't have started the dispute with my credit card company. Since they took so long replying, I don't have much confidence in their actions. I will be screwed if I cancel this dispute and then they either continue to refuse to communicate any further with me or just simply drag out the refund and I have zero recourse with my credit card company since I cancelled the dispute.
I apologize for placing this in the wrong thread. I didn't see another one that was more appropriate.
Hard Knocks said:No problem. This might be a feedback issue, but maybe we can discuss it in the chat thread. Click here and I will copy and paste this in the chat thread and we can try to go from there.
