Oh no, HK, you fell for the sales pitch? I heard Standard is one of those guys who totally jacks up the price! Let me guess, if you paid the "special low price" of $999.99 he'd throw in a S! sticker for "free"???

Ha! I'll stop being a jerk for a minute. VERY cool to see these cherished blades going from SURVIVOR! to SURVIVOR!

Lol. When you consider that he already has it trained on try sticks, he basically gave me the knife for free. All you have to do is point at a tree limb and this baby starts producing chips. I'm thinking of having all my GSOs sent down for training now.
 
The 10 is awesome, I've had mine a week now...handles so well for a large blade...for those of you who've handled the new 5.1s how are you liking the new handle compared to the old spec? Wondering if the new 6 will be any notabe difference from my current 6.
 
The handle on the new 5.1s works for me. I like it much better than the last run, it feels much more balanced. I really like the extra length, too. Overall, a huge improvement on an already great knife.

I may have to get a 6 as well. The only critique I've got for the 5.1 is the choil. It's too small for me. So the GSO 6 should be great. Depending on how the 4.7s feel, I may swap for an extra 4.7 or a 6.

Yup I don't like choils, reason I went with my 6....but if new spec is better then how do you say no to better lol..

I just gotta find the funds to pre order it and the 4.5, & 10, & 12 o and gotta snag a new 4.1....where does it end lol

I may end up in a cardboard box under the freeway, but I'll have the coolest knives under that bridge lol
 
After handling my 5 and my wife's new spec 5.1, I would agree that the handle goes to the new, I will likely order a 6 on the last available day....
 
Wow! I have been so busy over the last week or so that I havent had much time to hang around the forum! When I stop in, it has blown up with activity! So much that I cant keep up with all of the threads!

Agreed! And it seems like all the new activity is positive in nature which makes it all-the-better

I was thinking the same thing. And with all the traffic, some members that I recognize from the rest of the forum are picking it up on the home page and looking the subforum over, so that's pretty cool too.

I'm just glad it's staying in the family here were it'll be used and appreciated.
I did strike a deal on a nicely used GSO 5 so things worked out will. Now I just have to wait for it to show up!

Haha trees are very scared of it! I also taught it how to sit and look pretty!

Train the next blade in English please instead of German. When I unboxed the 10, I whispered, 'Ahhhh frauline....." and it immediately went out and retrieved a beautiful german girl. My wife was here man, nearly got me divorced ;) :D
