The Survive! Never Say Die! Chat Thread

Wasn't Survive Knives previously located in Gettysburg, PA, or do I have that mixed up? I see they are now in ID.

So what do all you gold members like about that membership level? Is it all about being able to sell in the exchange or is there more than that?

I have read the descriptions where you can pay for the various membership levels, but since I don't see a lot of you rushing to sell stuff I'm wondering about what I'm missing!

For selling and pm's (so you can buy easier)

So I was reading around the net about a rifle that I have wanted since they came out. The Ruger Gunsite Scout Rifle in .308 has always captured my attention. Ever since I first read about it I thought it might he the rifle for me. Sorta like a S!K 5.1, good at many things with enough punch to hit hard but be easily carried and used in multiple roles. I have never liked high magnififcation scopes. Seeing your natural tremble, feeling like you are cheating and losing my preferred two eyes open shooting method are a few reasons. After learning about the scout rifle concept with a low magnification forward mounted scope, I knew I needed one. So the other day I sold my sebenza 25, an old les george, and GASP!!! Two survive 5.1s. Easily flipped them for enough cash to buy the scout rifle and a box or two of ammo (.308 aint cheap). I havent mounted an optic yet, but it is probably going to be a Leupold 2.5x28 scout scope, with 9.5 inch eye relief, in low set quick detach rings, so I have the option to run the irons. Friday I will be taking her out for a hot date at my range to give her a workout. She is light and points and shoulders like a short bird gun. The trigger is nice and crisp wih no creep. Just about a 4 pound break. Here is a pic

They let you have guns up there in md riz? ;). In all seriousness she's a beaut!!! I have been looking at building a rifle for a while, but as you stated, it's often knives OR guns haha

Very nice! Post some pics of your paper. :D

I will but I have to post my disclaimer now...

I have no scope. It will be the ghost ring and post on friday. I gotta get to know her before I buy some glass. I will do some groups at 50/100/200 and post em up. We have a nice tactical range with lots of different steel, barracades, simulated roof structures and other obstacles. 500 yards is the longest shot, but there is no way I am trying that with a 50 inch drop and irons zeroed at 200.

Good choice on the Leupold Riz.

What kind of rings you looking at? I would recommend not going with Warne as I somehow broke two sets(even though they were torqued at the correct spec).
Leupold makes nice QD rings

We had a tornado touch down on our neighbors place. It got a few of our trees and blocked both entries to our creek. Went right down our shooting lane, over our stand and feeder. Only one house was hit where it started about 7-8 miles away. It just hopped and skipped about 20 miles across east Tx. Prayers for those in its path.

Pretty short barrel and fat sights for 200 yards. What size group are you expecting. Just curious

Not trying to be a smart a**.
