Anyone got any cool outdoor trips planned!? The wife and I were gonna get out this weekend but had to postpone until next...

My wife and girl ditched me for the Oregon coast. It's spring break here next week, but I couldn't get away from work, one of the dangers of working for yourself, ha.

Might get away for something in the evenings, though. Maybe do some fishin'

Haha that's awesome, I'm looking forward to seeing everyone's adventures, hopefully I can post up some pictures of the wife's batoning skills after next weekend!

I figured I'd move my question about gateway knives to here since I had started it up in the wrong thread. It's the tried and true stupid question "I need a cheap camp knife!" The last camping trip I went on, two buddies really liked my 4.1, and what I could do around camp with it (from basic batoning to cutting steak) I helped one get in on the 5.1 Monday sales and when that ships I know he will be happy (he has seen/handled my wife's) the other was looking for a little more entry level item, around $75-$100. I was leaning towards a Becker bread, or Ontario model rat-7. I doubt he'd want to reproduce or anything like that so it needs to be a good all around er out of the box. Was leaning towards the MK-2 due to geometry, but the guys gave me a good list to suggest as well. Anyway, the topic is gateway knives. At some point I'm hoping to turn him into survive, maybe the sk line!!!

Chiral your offer is very generous, unfortunately we don't live all that close any more.

Maybe a Condor Hudson Bay knife will work for them. I just ordered one for $41 off of fleabay and it looks pretty decent.

That's a lot of knife for the price

I was thinking Condor, too. Their kephart might work, redwood. No frills, all work.

I knew you guys would help! I think I will just really stress the difference the geometry can play and hope that helps make up his mind

Hi Guys

Apologize that I once see Survive Knives will mention what time the 5.1 or Necker will available today.

I Still do not have the chance to grab one. later trying again.

Thanks.

Hey, yeah they didn't have any knives today because they're trying to get ahead on their other fulfillment obligations. Hopefully next Monday!
