The Tilt and Dione Lucas?

See i always thought the open outline of the Southard looked like a whale. I never really felt it looked like another knife.

Sheepsfoot refers to a blade with a heavily rounded tip area like so:

Named probably due to it's similarity in shape with a hoof. Sheepsfoot can have a wharncliffe edge which is perfectly straight.
Wharncliffe:

Reverse tanto

0777, Southard, Echelon ect. May be called a modified wharncliffe. Which basically implies a blade with slight curve to the tip, but is not far from a wharncliffe either. I would also just define them as a blade with a swept edge or gradual curve.

Thanks for the primer, Steel. Like a lot of people I somehow unconsciously got the idea that the sheepsfoot was about the shape of a foot, but it's about trimming feet. I should have known that. Have seen my granddad trimming hooves enough, although he tended to use a big old plier-like device that looked like toenail clippers for a giant. But for the bottoms he used a straight-edged knife.

look, it shares the same shape with a fork!!!! omg totally copied

The 0770 has made me forget all about replacing my lost Southard with its ugly damn hole.

There are a number of reasons why I wouldn't have purchased the Southard if I'd known a little more, but it's still a great little knife. I definitely need to get a 770cbcf though.

I think I'll pass on the fork. ;)

I don't get it. What's wrong with the Spyder hole?

Nothing really, if it were a replacement for a thumbstud and the knife weren't *a flipper*. But without a hole it wouldn't be a Spyderco. It's a beautiful knife and the hole only makes it less so.

Actually, if there were a way of zip-tying that would wave it, without looking horrifically ugly, the hole would be great. Or in the event that you absolutely need a waved knife and don't care how it looks.
