nice picture.
i like the guest house and the fact that you don't have to pay taxes on it. :p

It's been used today for everything from opening boxes and such to cutting up an apple for breakfast.

That's a nice knife. Is that what is called a jagdknicker? Linder Solingen makes on of ATS 34. Pricey, but I like it so much that I am tempted to get on some day. What do you use yours, what kind of tasks is it suitable for?

I am developing a taste for european knives these days.

Well - yes it´s what we germans / bavarians call a Jagdnicker (or in Bavaria also the term "Hirschfänger" is in use). I own about three or four of Jagnicker - two Linders and one PUMA. Great knives in any case.

Well I use it for regular EDC tasks, but usually it´s carried in traditional bavarian clothes (Lederhosen etc.) - there is an extra pocket for these knives on traditional bavarian clothes. They are used for EDC but also as small hunting knives here in Germany.

European knives are great - as well as their american relatives :D

What's remarkable is that they still hold the shape and style of really old german weapons, bauernwehr and "kriegsmesser" that were used both by the military and the peasants. Like these reproductions by Albion swords

I keep buying knives, looking for that next one that knocks this one out of my pocket, but I can't let her go.

Here it is when it was brand new. It is a 1991 Queen-made Winchester:

Here it is after many months in my pocket and many peaches, plums, and apples later:

Here it is showing the etch, which is now barely visible:

Looks like the sky was grimacing at me, but my daughter was all smiles when I made a makeshift seesaw out of a washed up board, so I guess technically a seasaw

Pete almost went up your way today. We ended up going to the Ipswich Wildlife Sanctuary instead.
