The ultimate kit is coming...

Grreat job on this. I can see that stuck to the side of my pack. Been holding off on the RC-6 but I think I'll have one sometime in November now.

Really cool! I'm really looking foward to this. Maybe I'll gift my brother my current RC-6 to make room for the new one. See, you guys are always getting me in the sharing spirit :D

Great idea!

I'm going to have to sell some stuff to support my new habit:D

I've been thinking about an RC-6

Totally love the idea. I'm sure I'm not alone when I say that I wish this would be available for the RC-4. I would buy one in a heartbeat.

I was just thinking that. I am really intrigued to get this but being 15 and short for my age, I wonder what cops will think of my parents when they see a 11 inch fixed blade in my hands next to a zipped up sheath strapped to a county comm pack. :D Foster home for me

Here's the deal: We're getting these sewn in the USA. They are very expensive so the only way we can even justify selling this thing and making any type of a profit is to offer it with an RC-6. So, basically we can make the money on the knife and not make any money on the pack. That's the reason we can't even begin to think about selling them to our distributor network. By the time we make a small profit margin on our wholesaler and then they mark it up to their dealer and the dealer marks it up to the consumer, the price is through the roof. So basically we're gonna have to sell this rig with the knife and fire kit so we can make our profit on the knife and fire kit, and still not be in competition with our dealer network. Does that make any sense?

Not too long ago I was in Tegucilgapa, Honduras and we had a little time off. Fortunately this all occurred a couple of months before the military coup. We decided to go shopping. I found this place with wonderful machetes and wonderful machete sheaths. However, my problem was that I was island hoping and everything was carry on. I couldn't get the machete, but I could take the sheath. I started negotiating and worked it out to 160 lempiras (about $8 U.S.D.). Our conversation, aided through my buddy the translater went something like this:

"I don't want the machete, just the case...."
"No Senior, why would you want a machete sheath without the machete?"
"Thats what I want, give me a price with just the sheath"
"But what good is a machete sheath without a machete?"
"I just want the sheath, I can't take the machete, how much for the sheath?"
"I can't sell a machete without its sheath, the machete isn't really worth anything"
"Okay give me a price"
"Senior, 150 lempiras for the machete sheath"
"Sounds great - I'll take it"
"ay yi yi.....what am I going to do with this plain machete?????"

Well, that how it went down....Here is a little bit of Tegucigalpa...And here is my machete sheath.

Point being, you can always jack up the price of the package dude..We'll still buy the darn thing :D :D :D

I am already dreaming of what I can fill that pouch with! The design and execution of this package is extremely clever.

I've been planning on buying an RC 6 and a firesteel, so this works out perfectly. It looks awesome too, thanks Jeff.

Looks nice, this might just convince me to finally pick up an RC-6. :D

Thanks for the update.

I'm looking at this to use as a PSK, so having a second rc6 to leave in here makes perfect sense. Would be no good to pull it out of my glovebox and have no knife in it

Makes sense but still saddens me. I already own a RC-5, RC-6 & a Fire Kit. Oh well, guess I'll have to sit this one out.
