The ultimate kit is coming...

I like it! this is a very interesting package. However, I fear I'm joining those who expressed the wish of having the possibility to buy the package alone, like in the "Tegucicalpa machete sheath" case. I know that

Here's the deal: We're getting these sewn in the USA. They are very expensive so the only way we can even justify selling this thing and making any type of a profit is to offer it with an RC-6. So, basically we can make the money on the knife and not make any money on the pack. That's the reason we can't even begin to think about selling them to our distributor network. By the time we make a small profit margin on our wholesaler and then they mark it up to their dealer and the dealer marks it up to the consumer, the price is through the roof. So basically we're gonna have to sell this rig with the knife and fire kit so we can make our profit on the knife and fire kit, and still not be in competition with our dealer network. Does that make any sense?

but could you give us an idea of what could be the prices (complete rig, rig with only fire kit and rig with only knife) ? Just to covince me :D

That is a sweet piece of kit. I already own a RAT RC 5 and 6, I hope there is an option to but the kit minus the knife in the future.

I was considering saving up for an RC4 to go with my Izula. Now I might as well wait and pick up this new pack with an RC6. Great stuff, Jeff.

You guys are awesome. It's pretty amazing to see a company who actually USES their own products the way their customers do and that produce new products like this.

This setup looks pretty awesome. Now I sit and wait, checking the RAT website frequently.

An Izula will be the first thing I put in the kit. I am surprised no one thought or mentioned that yet. :D
Can't wait to see the threads coming up later
"My Rat Pack" with everyone posting pictures and descriptions of their kits contents.

Yea that's going to be fun to see what people do with these. I'm already gathering components. Saw of some sort, meds, tinders, sunscreen/bug repellent foil packs, all that usual stuff. I'm looking for small flares, but seems that they don't exist. May have to bust out the chem set on this one.

Looks like I am gonna have to get me an RC-6 in November, or when they are ready for sale. Can't wait!!!!!!!

wow, this pack is definitely at the top of my list of stuff to buy! so there is still the option of either the rc-5 or rc-6? i would like the 5 more if there was no hole in the scales, supposedly for a fire drill. doesn't a fire drill hole have to have a way to fuel itself, like a notch cut-out on one side? anyways, i love the pack idea, and i would love the rc-5 even better if it just had a plain handle (sans fire drill hole).
