The unofficial, non binding, carries no weight, 2020 forum knife possibility discussion thread

At one point there seemed to be mutual interest between many porchgoers and KSF in a Northwoods offering for the traditional Bladeforums knife...I think that would be the best place to start, and see if we can get the ball rolling. IF KSF and GEC are willing and able.

My buddy ( dredd8 dredd8 ) has a neat knife made out of what the maker called “pasture wood”. I think we should get one with slabs of that. I’m not sure I could use that to cut my food though....

(The makers “pasture wood” is cow poop mixed up in resin so it’s “stabilized”.)

Fixed blades, eh? You know Buck Knives offers several style blades and can give us special steels, custom handles, and stay price competitive - cut good too. Picture yourself sporting one of these to the mall, fishing pier, campout, or out woods walking. OH

Hey Bruce - great lineup . What is the model of the knife next to the white-handled beauty? (Second from the left on the bottom). Please and thank you :)

I would like to see an uncommon pattern modelled after GEC #45 Lumberjack, GEC # 46 Whaler OR perhaps the vintage Winchester #29 Sunfish.

GEC #45 Lumberjack. Last released in 2012.

Tom, thanks, that knife is a Buck 116 Caper; it was in the Buck Knife catalog for years but a limited run knife nowadays.

Definitely interested in it being a Buck fixed blade this time around...with the option of a lefty sheath. A fella can dream can't he?

another thought for a fixed blade... which might have (probably has) been mentioned before... a run of the GEC H20 with a really nice handle? I have nothing against the Bucks mentioned, at all. This was just another thought, as most folks seem to really like that size knife..

This thread is turning into an echo chamber....
Essential to proceed
*Organising committee
*Financials/ treasurer
*BF authority to proceed
*Polling/ size of order/ number crunching
*Official no nonsense thread to nail down what will be the 2020 bf knife
Required but not essential:
*Exemption for meako from no nonsense component.
Erm ,erm anything else?
All volunteers take one pace forward.

The question that has been on my mind for a while now ...and I believe it to be quite pertinent..
How many of us will forego our "dream knife grails" when it gets down to the fact that it might not be what we are getting fepending on poll results and availability of someone to build it ?

Isn’t this what happens every year? Everyone posts up what they want, almost no one gets their wish, yet plenty of forum knives get sold. Maybe I’m not understanding your question though.
