The unofficial, non binding, carries no weight, 2020 forum knife possibility discussion thread

I think we should add one more rule to the Forum Knife.
If you decide to sell the knife, try to sell to a fellow forum member ...
And have a disclaimer that says "The person purchasing this knife agrees to honor the original agreement of purchase, and not re-sell the knife for profit."

A lot of people bought the traditional forum knife that are NEVER seen in the traditional forum.

Yeah, me too.... but it still does.

Getting pretty blatant about it.... hope the 90 odd bucks was worth it.

Perhaps having mods add a "flipper" tag to their online avatar area. That way, the rest of us would know who to shun.

In fairness, there are a lot of folks who just don't participate much, and a lot of others who have faded into the background over the years. I know that I am not nearly as active as I used to be. I mean, yeah, there are definitely flippers who just come in for the sale, but there are also people who used to be regulars that just buy the knives now.
 
At this stage I firmly believe that we should be encouraging all purchasers of as yet undecided,unconfirmed and unlikely knife...we should be welcoming everyone....the 2020 is morphing into a Sasquatch..and the Covid19 is shutting down businesses..Now more than ever we need to remain calm and focussed..
Anyway flippers are like Flies...they will alwats be around when something sweet is left out.
 
It seems the powers have decided that this year only a Buck or GEC option can be worked and I am tired of the Opinel suggestion joke. I assume it is a joke there isn't much you can do to dress up an Opinel and they come standard in Olive wood so not sure what anyone has in mind if they aren't joking.

You may be right, but this is an informal discussion thread. I did not take the Opinel suggestion as a joke, but then I love my Opinel. And olive wood is not standard, beechwood is. Olive wood is an upgrade. The handle, blade, or even the collar could be engraved with the BladeForums name. Why does a knife have to be super fancy and all tricked out?
 
I've always stayed out of these discussions because there are plenty of great ideas. But I liked the idea of Case back in the beginning of this thread. And when you think of Case you have to like the Yellow composition handles. The 3208 Half Whittler would be great in CV of course. I think they only did this combo once 20 years ago. Just my 2¢ :)

Case would be great, but as someone pointed out, the powers that be have decided it will be Buck or GEC, if there is a knife. Just waiting to see what happens....
 
...Case is mentioned every year. The number of knives we buy excludes them as an option.
 
I would like to see a buck fixed blade this year, something really different! However, I am in for one no matter we go with:)
