I still think a forum knife with purple sawcut Felton with some glitter mixed in and a pink narwhal shield plus a nicely serrated 440 stainless steel blade will be an unforgettable forum knife! Add in both a long pull with a crescent nail nick and you can be sure it will be unrivaled. A forum knife not to be forgotten!

What makes one of them only "inspired"?

One of them is an equal end jack knife. They just copied the oversized bolster and made it barehead. And now we call it a barlow. I know they both are barlows. But when i think barlow, i think the one on the left, not the right.

My opinion is that its just an opinion.

Except if you opt for those 'foreign' types: Olive, Juniper, Curlybirch

Olive is a beautiful wood that holds up really well. My mom has an olive kitchen spoon that she uses for soup, it has held up well. I’d think it would be a great material for handles for looks and durability

Nope And this is what makes the whole process so interesting. Everyone has their opinions and then you see these mock ups and maybe change your mind...and at the end of all the polls and comments and bickering and the "let's keep this thread on topic please" from the admin...we end up with something pretty special that represents the collective mind of the Porch.

Based on the mock-ups, not one is a “hard no”....

Bocote is my favorite in wood. Soup bone or white bone are top two for the bone versions. This years knife is going to be sweet!
