The upcoming, anticipated, way-too-excited GEC 85's Thread!

Josh That Stag has an excellent look to it, with use it will age superbly. Grand finish on those pins too, exceptionally nice knife.

Regards, Will

Nice knives guys! Love the polished stag texmex03.
85 bloodwood, I'm liking everything about it!

Wow, I have an assortment of 9 in the natural handle materials coming. Looks like it may be a bit of a disappointment. I am not at all a fan of the satin finish on the blades or bolsters. It does suit the micarta very well though.

Wow, that polished stag looks awesome. Wolfe knives, I'm sure you won't have any trouble getting rid of them.

Thanks tex for the overhead shots - stag looks nice and thick. I'm glad to see these are truly polished.

Here's the precious with the new kid.....hmmmmm

Gotta say..... I am VERY happy with the SFO. Thanks Mike for a great offering!

bloodwoods and antique yellow look very nice

I wouldn't mind picking up a antique yellow scandi

I'd love to hear some impressions of the scaber grind from members who are sitting on both blades types.

I notice the nail nick the secondary is on the same side as the main. On my other two blade they are on opposite sides. Not sure which I prefer, just an observation.

Is that a new northfield tube? I've never seen it before...

So, I am pretty happy with mine but im kinda bummed out that there is a crack in the bone leading into the bolster. I can feel it when I run my finger across it and its fairly noticeable ( I saw it within a minute of taking the knife out)...I dont really want to return it because I want the knife but its something I haven't experienced with a GEC before.

The flat grind is a bit wider and easier to pinch open . The sabre is a bit narrower when closed which some might like . I prefer the flat grind by a long shot.

That's a shame KP I'd ask GEC what they could do for you or possibly try to stabilise the crack itself. I can understand the feeling of not wanting to return it but also being a bit disappointed with the outcome.

Yeah, I planned on carrying it and everything but I thought that I might see if there was another cover I would like more if I could trade it (micarta I was thinking) but this defect may have an effect on that plan. I'll get in touch with GEC and see, I have another knife I need to send there anyway because the rocker pins stick out considerably.
