The upcoming, anticipated, way-too-excited GEC 85's Thread!

Only got one this time around because I like sleeping in a bed.:p

I noticed something, the gec 77 spear and this 85 are almost the same width. It will fit that blue pouch in the background and I assume it will fit whatever that 77 spear will fit.

I think that's the best version right there ^

Wish I had gotten in early enough to get down for one of those. But still looking forward to my yellow saber grind.

Very nice, TurkishChubs! I've got the same on one its way to me, but mine won't arrive until Monday.

The 77 is my favorite GEC frame right now so that's good to know as most my gear is for the 77. That's a good looking knife and looks like you win the first to post pic race :)

Wow, I have the same one coming in the mail. Glad I picked that combination. Wishing I had gotten a 2 blade also now. Cocobolo is riding with me for now

Looks great! I have the same one en route to me! That jigging is fantastic too. I like it much better than the previous liner lock version. Really wish I'd put my name in for a scabre.

Looks like you win the prize of first one out the gate!

I was looking at the shield on the jigged bone antique posted today and noticed how it is not flush. I went back through prior posts to look at the shields and just realized the polished stag are shield-less... I guess I'm still getting used to GEC not putting shields on stag.

That bone continues to blow me away. Glad I have a 2-blade and a scabre coming in yellow bone! Can't wait!

That yellow Bone really is fantastic. I am always super tempted by micarta so I went with one of those (and can't wait to get it!) but that Yellow Bone is something else!

I am really not one for jigged bone most the time, but this jigging and coloration is simply fantastic!! I am REALLY looking forward to Monday (not many times in my life have I said that), and the flood(hopefully) of pictures.
I love seeing new 85's!!!!
Thanks,
Brian

Nice stag. I must say though that I really like the new shield - less look on the stag runs now.

I should of never sold my single blade EO in stag...it was a beautiful knife.

I saw that Mike said the scabre blades are as sharp as he's seen from GEC. How are the edges on the flat ground blades?

I am curious if the Scabre sharpness has to do with the added attention.
Just about everything I have received from GEC has needed edge attention right out of the tube.
-So common is this, that I have seen a peculiar term used before; "GEC Sharp". Which is to say, not so sharp.
