The VOLT

Joshua J, I was going to mention that I buy my knives at the end of the month when I get paid. I allot X amount of dollars for knives and do my buying then, and that is why I am still waiting on my Volt's.

Lots of good talk guy's, keep it up!

Anyone got pics to post of the lockup? Would like to see some!

Can't remember if I said this earlier, but when the Volt was first intro'ed I was excited. Then my intrest begin to wane a bit and when I found out it was going to be a lighter weight knife than I usually like I was prepared to pass on it. Let me explain what I just said. I am used to folders that weigh in at 6.5 ounces or heavier, the two I am rotating now weigh 7.7 ounces and 10.3 ounces, so I was hoping for a heavier knife. But then I begin to see pics and found out it was built with fairly thick components; .157" thick blade and handles, with a weight closer to 5+ ounces, and my desire shot right back to the top!! And let's face it, it is a damned beautiful design, and Kershaw simply builds an almost flawless knife of custom quality. So I now have 2 that will be coming, a blem to use and a non-blem to put up, or maybe give to my son.

I know my desire for think heavy knives is an anal thing, but that is what appeals to me and it is my money so I buy what I like.

i was told that kershaw is now having problems with the manufacturing process of these knives, not sure if its true, but if anyone wants one they should get it while they can....
We didn't have manufacturing problems with the Volt, it's just another one of those time consuming projects that had a hard time finding priority on the factory floor. We produced 278 pieces, and feel it turned out really well.

Now on to the Speedform.

Any idea when its gonna be released? Or at least a guess?

I have a pre-order, and am really, really hoping I’m far enough up on the list to snag one.
The total production run will be around 250-300 pieces. Parts are being cut...say another 45-60 days.

Cool, now all I got to do is cross my fingers and wait. Despite pre-ordering the Volt the dealer I used ran out of stock before he got to my place on the list. By the time I saw his email saying I was out of luck it was to late to get one anywhere else. Hopefully the volt blem I’ve got coming will ease my pain…but good as I’m sure it will be its just not the same as having one with a warranty and such.

If it's going to be another 60 days I will have had my prepay out for close to 9 months. Glad I just picked up a xxx Volt.

But all of your waiting and anticipation will be rewarded when you finally get it. :D

No shit! Wow, what a knife! Could easily be $200 more, and still be worth it. I can't wait for my blem to get here so I can start cutting stuff!

Got mine in the mail today, I am really impressed. It is the best folder I have owned. Great job Kershaw.

Got my blem today and I can't find anything wrong with it. Definitely my new EDC for awhile.

I was lucky enough to acquire a Volt. I have to give a big  to Kershaw on this one. Very nice knife.

I was lucky enough to handle a volt today at a local knife shop... wow... if i hadn't just bought a $70 knife and if their price tag hadn't been $300 i might have bought it. Great edge, fit and finish was top notch, easy to deploy and disengage... best thing i have EVER seen from kershaw

Lockup.

I had to look for Quite a Long Time to find the blem on my Volt blem.

I still trying to get the hang of the flipper thou.... harder to work,

for now at least, than my other two flippers;)

Edit: Flippin fine now.

Mine was the same way, perfect except for a pinhole in the copper between the blade sections. This is a great folder, very excited to be carrying this knife now.

I love mine too, really stoked on it. In fact, its in my pocket right now. However, I'm still a little bummed that there is a small amount of blade play. I think I just got unlucky because most people seem to reporting that theirs are solid. Mine is getting more solid though as it breaks in, so maybe it will disappear all together soon. I still can't figure out how a framelock can have up-down play in the first place, but it is there.

Still, I'm not noticing it now unless I go looking for it, so no worries. Wicked knife!
