i met up with my folks for lunch at the Simon Pearce flagship store in Quechee, VT yesterday. it's a cool place. you can watch them work in the basement, where they do all the glassblowing.

they utilize hydropower at their glassblowing shop. as such, it is right on the river. here is the view....

i will say that i made probably the most ridiculous purchase ever yesterday. while i do like supporting local craftsmen, i bought two wine glasses for $59 (and this was half off, as they were factory seconds). the kicker is that i don't drink wine. go figure.
