The "Whatever" Thread

We've been shopping with the girls since 11 this morning. Now Connie has them at the grocery store getting snacks and picking up videos so we can have movie night.

Maggie and I drove to Rock Island today to watch Emily wrestle in the semifinals.

Then we had Chinese at a local place by the high-school and drove home.

I started a fire, we are doing laundry, Maggie is balancing the checkbook (and cussing the new credit union online banking site they just "improved" ) -

And I check in here occasionally as a break from writing a manual for my Illinois CCL class.

A little JD Holiday Select 2013 is helping smooth out the rest.

Took the kids to Sesame Street Live today (annual tradition), then watched the UK game on TV. Low key day with the family; great Saturday.

Next weekend I'm taking the NRA Pistol Instructor class and have the KY Concealed Carry Instructor class scheduled for next month.

Wore the Asbell jacket on a walk this morning, and thought I would give you guys an idea on how well the "Timber Ghost" blends in with the background.

It seems to blend in pretty well, and it is plenty warm. It was high 30's- low 40's this morning with a pretty good breeze and I had this and a short sleeved t-shirt on and was perfectly comfortable. Was a little chilly while taking the pics, though.:D

Thanks Cooper, those photo's were eye opening! Lot's of critters was snuck up on before Mossy Oak!

They were interesting for me too. It would be pretty easy to hunker in to some thicker brush and blend in even better.

Looks good, Coop!

Thanks for the pics. Was the wool comfortable against your arms with short sleeves?

Looks like everybody had a fun Saturday!
I managed to slip away for a couple hours to fish one of my favorite native trout streams. The weather was nice though a little windy and I did catch several trout using my "poor man" tenkara setup. The only negative was the two sets of footprints I saw up and down the bank. I know of another stream that is better except for the hike in and out making it fishable only if I have several hours. Glad everyone had a fun Saturday.

Yesterday we took our boys to a car show down by the Mississippi river. The oldest, 10, was counting every Corvette he seen. 18 in total.
The middle boy, 3, kept asking where Lightning McQueen and Mater was. He thought it was a 'Cars' show.
Then the youngest boy, 1, slept in the baby walker the whole time.

We had a good time. Seen some really nice cars and trucks.

Looks like everybody got out and about with this nice weather.

My nephew owned the Mustang police car, Barricade, from one of the Transformers movies. He owned it for about 1 1/2 years, took it to shows and used it for children's fund raising benefits.

That would be a fun car to cruise around in. Unfortunately, everyone you got behind would slow down to the speed limit or less. :p

There's a body shop in North Aurora that has a fully decked out Knight rider clone sitting in it and there is a guy that shows up at the Thursday cruise in shows in Geneva with his Back To The Future Delorean complete with Flux capacitor, hover board and "clock tower struck by lightning" 1955 news paper.

 Some of those critters snuck up on with red plaid Filson or Woolrich that smelled like last nights fire.

Amen to that! Was a sad day when I realized I had gotten to fat for my Filson Cruiser. Was a good day for my skinny nephew!
