The "Whatever" Thread

This has been riding in my front pocket for the last few weeks. Duct tape sheath and all. It's amazing how handy it has been.

I'm going to go ahead and order one of those but on amazon the reviews aren't great. but for 50 bucks I'm grabbing at least one lol since I heat with only wood. Might just go for 2 of em.

Damn you Heefa lol. I ordered 2. even if just to use around the house. 100 bucks for 2 name brand chainsaws to the door you can't freaking beat that. even if they are refurbished.

Yep, I had to order one cause I needed it anyways.

We'll see soon enough how good the deal is.

EDIT: Says it also comes with a factory warranty and is factory refurbished so im sure we wont be receiving a cinder block in a Husqvarna box. :p

Well, the deal of the century just went sour.

I got an email saying that ebay is refunding my payment for the chainsaw.

I got one saying the account may have been compromised and if I already paid I need to file a claim with the resolution center. if that is the case how come they don't just give me my money back. I'll probably try to call them in a bit when my wife gets home since my phone is broken lol

Mine said the same thing but no money was ever withdrawn.
We should listened to TPVT and been more doubtful! :p

And you will never hurt that blade either - John should do the Forged in Fire show - I watched one last night on demand where three of the participants messed up the heat treat - two were soft and one was brittle.

John - what is the progress of the new forge / anvil setup ?

Congrats on 15 years. I'll be six in forum years later this year.

best

I've got everything I need, anvil, stump, tongs, just need to do more research. I believe in learning as much as I can before starting. After that, all I need to worry about is someone complaining about the noise. As a side note, I fired up the forge this morning, I still use it for heat treating hawks.

congrats John on 15 years!

and thanks Andy, i too am interested to hear where you're at with forging.

it's 60 out, and i had to work from home today. guess what that means i get to do at lunch!!? YES!

EDIT: well, that was an epic fail. somehow, i got my pin-holes crooked. i will need to start over. just wasted a set of scales. was hoping to get a handle gluing up today, since it's so warm out.

It's been confirmed, there will be one of my Kepharts in an article in American Frontiersman magazine, a Kephart in Knife Magazine, and the Kane model will be mentioned in an upcoming action novel.
