Our grandson Jon is coming over to spend the day with us on Sunday. Pretty excited, we have not seen him in a couple of months. He will be 21 in August, has a great job, and his own apartment, but normally works around 65 hours a week, but took off Sunday to spend time with us.

That's nice that he took some time off to spend with you. Kids that age are usually wrapped up in their own world (I know, I have one myself)

yea for easy electrical fixes - so much for my cutlery budget this month. :(
the back running lights on my truck gave up the ghost -- $187 in labor to find the problem (a wire cracked)
$13 in parts to fix that (wiring a shunt around a factory connector) and both license plate lights (one bulb broken and the connector badly corroded)
9.15% sales tax......

My knife/toy budget went out the window this month and last and became a new driveway, paint for two bedrooms, weed and grub killer for the lawn, and my carry permit fees ($363 because - Illinois).

Don't you just love being an adult? :p

I remember when he turned 17 and (I think) you gave him a Ranger and now he's working his butt off at a new career.
Enjoy your visit.

We had a hellacious thunder storm blow through western Washington a little bit ago.
Power outages with trees/power poles down and thousands of lightening strikes.

Luckily I got my walking done before it swooped in.

Visiting friends in Maryland. We love seeing our friends out here but definitely don't miss living out here. Spent far too much time stuck in traffic last night. Poured rain all night and still going strong this morning. We had to cancel the outdoor activities we planned for the kids now we'll be driving into Baltimore for either the Acquarium or an interactive museum. More traffic, this time in the rain. I miss the mountains.

Each of my grandchildren have a Buck 110 marked with the date code of the year they were born, and Jon, Hayley, and Hanna also have a Vic Soldier with the year they were born. None for Emily, they discontinued the old style Soldier.

Getting close to "that anniversary." On July 12, 2012 our family got the worst news possible, our 7 year old granddaughter Hanna was diagnosed with leukemia. I spent some time on the Hanna's Hope page on Facebook today, now I'm a total wreck.

Whenever I find anything out I will let you know. Be sure to let Joe know, we all used to hunt on his farm. It was a shock when I saw his sister post it on Facebook, he was only two months older than me. More like a brother than a friend, he was best man at my wedding and I was at his. I've known him since I was 12.
