Kids found this little fellow, and ~50 of it's closest relatives, on the back porch. They wanted to keep one, and I honestly wouldn't have minded, but I don't know how to keep one this small fed/alive.

Mantis are awesome and the kids love seeing them out and about.
The issue with this little guy was just how small it was. I would have been stuck trying to capture insects small enough to feed a small insect. Not fun.

Headed for the Outer Banks of NC in the morning. Spent some time watching the pier cam this evening and I'm ready for some fishing. I'll try to post a few pics while we're there.

Took Maggie to the vet today for her annual shots. They noticed something in her right eye, they think she might have a tumor or melanoma. She is 10 years old, and is the happiest dog ever.
They say I can take her to a specialist but it will probably cost several thousand dollars. I asked if she is in pain, they said no. I think it's best to let her live her life unless she starts to have pain.

Sorry to read this, John. I guess as long as it is not bothering her ability to function, and she's not in any pain from it, that is a sound decision.

She acts as though nothing is wrong, playful, energetic, and has a great appetite.

She acts like she always has, if there is a change I will take her in. I will not ever let any of my pets suffer, they are basically the only friends I have.

Glad she's not in any pain and is still acting herself its always hard seeing your dogs in pain.

the E01 got to stretch its legs out in the field today for some vegetation sampling for lesser prairie chickens. It was nice and overcast today until our last transect when it reached a little over 100 but got some cool pics.

With Connie working nights the only day we have free to do anything is Saturday. As much as I enjoy listening to the rain, why does it always rain on Saturday? We were supposed to go to the big flea market in Morris today, it's pouring down rain.
