The "Whatever" Thread

Great time to spend time with family or some outdoor time during the Thanksgiving week.

Got a chance to try out my new snowblower this morning. It's an Ariens Deluxe 30. I have a 300' long driveway with a turnout, so I need a decent machine to handle the snow. It has a headlight and handwarmers, LOL. It did a great job, but already busted a shear pin. That's disappointing...

My old Ariens is 50 years old, but still going. I am just afraid it will have some kind of catastrophic failure in the middle of a big storm, and I'd be dead in the water..er..snow. I'll put that old machine over at my mom's house. She can't handle it, but if I need to go over and do her driveway, that rig is 10 times better than her silly machine.

John I had a realization the other day. Your knives remind me a lot of Buck knives. Buck makes great knives in good steels with a great heat treat, but they sort of get pushed aside because they aren't "sexy" enough or don't use the marketing that takes advantage of people who think you have to have a knife in M390, S35, etc. to cut open their mail or strings off their socks. It didn't really surprise me either since I know you have mentioned how much you like the Buck folders. I hope you take this as a compliment!

I do, thanks!

Quick question. How does the Hikers Buddy compare to the Mini Appalachia?

When I got in from hunting yesterday my wife was talking about getting a puppy. I told her I didn't care but I was hunting and didn't have time to ride to NC. I got this text while in the woods after lunch today. Don't ask how many JKs I could have bought with the money she paid.

so I was stropping my badass kephart for slicing all the goodness today we are doing a ham and turkey this year. I noticed the blade is getting a rainbow oil looking patina and the only thing I do different then my other jk's is clean it with those Clorox kitchen wipes before and after kitchen use to keep my germ freak wife off my case. It is pretty cool looking.
