The "Whatever" Thread

caught my wife looking at jk knives on her phone this morning i wonder what im getting for christmas. im hoping she finds a used treasure that someone had in a safe.

It’s sad when 3/32”x3/4” O1 costs more than 1/8”x1” and 1/8”x 1 1/4” O1. I see a price increase coming up for all 3/32” thick knives.

That is very strange about the 3/32. Must not be as much a demand. Sure makes a great knife, especially with your heat treat!

We went to see the new Grinch movie last night. I'm not sure who enjoyed it more my wife or son but it was good time. There's a theater about 30 minutes away that has all you can eat popcorn and free soda refills. I enjoyed the overly buttered popcorn as much as the movie.

took SWMBO to see Bohemian Rhapsody in Kansas City today - it was a fun movie.
then we found a little hole-in-the-wall El Salvadoran restaurant that was very tasty & reasonably priced -- even if they did get my order wrong.

My wife and I took our daughter tonight. I don't know what Grinch they read about it to come up with that movie. Wasn't all bad, but other than characters named Grinch, Max, and Cindy Lou it's completely different

Simplejack Simplejack hang in there, I hope you have a good weekend, get outdoors and get some woods time or think about the simple things that bring you joy. :D

Good knife, good dog, coffee on the burner or fire, and a good book (my idea of course, so fill in the blanks with those important things). I get to thinking about the little things that mean so much more as the holidays approach.

Keep them coming. Let's hear some more favorite things that bring a smile to your face.

The girls wanted Connie to come over yesterday and bake cookies with them, so I took her over and spent some time with them. She spent the night there so I came home and watched Hulu with my dogs then went to bed.
Alison is off work Thursday and wants to take me out for lunch, so I’m looking forward to seeing her, it’s been awhile.

Hey JK family. This post has been a long time coming and I had been avoiding it as I don’t want to bring anyone down. Some of you might remember my long winded post I linked above from last year.

As John already knows Brittany’s disease took her from all of us on the night of our anniversary this February. I hadn’t given Veterans Day much thought over the last 9 months but today I picked up the torch and brought my father breakfast.

Happy Veterans Day to all whether you’re a vet or not as this day should mean something to all of us!

That's a tough memory, but it takes some sand to push through it. Hopefully it will get easier for you with time.

Can't think of a much better way to spend Veterans Day. A co-worker and I went to another co-worker's house, and spent the day making these. Not quite done with them yet, but close.

Beers and buddies. The only downside was watching the Pats get thumped by the Titans.
