The "Whatever" Thread

John, Love your relaxing pic with the dogs. I have had boxers since I was around 3. My parents bred two females when I was a kid. Always fun to have 10 or more puppies around. I love the boxer look: mean face warm heart. They are the best family dog ever. My inlaws always had Shih Tsu's. Dumb as a box of rocks, but like the boxers, they love people - especially their family. Glad to hear you are surviving these trying times! Even partying a bit! I have been fortunate. I have been extemely busy at work. Working from home but my customers are essential to the current economy (box makers, pharma and others)

Glad to hear that things are going well, and busy, to keep positive.

I think I like the stretched out point more than what the eldris had. Should be a good improvement.

Thanks. With the overall dimensions larger in every direction it should fill the hand up nicely. The added blade length shouldn’t change what I like about the Mora, just add a little utility. I don’t think I’ll miss the original handle wings since the new handle is fuller.

Jeff, typically small knives are used to open boxes - cut tape. My opinion, how about a slight drop point? You would end up with a steeper cut on the knife. Better for tape cutting but also cutting in general and possibly a better look. All that said, awesome design!

Just had an Oh Duh moment. The original design had a slight drop. No accident. Your slightly longer blade will get a better look than the original if you do this. Once agian, just a thought. Your design is very cool!

John, do you see any issues with making this one based on the pattern? How close to the handle will you be able to grind the cutting edge? Any problem with barrel tapering the handle?

I can leave the K off and go right to the handle. I see no issues.

More a fan of Kiridashi but roach belly is still cool! I look forward to seeing the final product. I am a fan of your designs and have bought one.

Very cool! Nice kits too! fun to look at and gives me ideas. I always like to have fire starting and fishing in my kits. Always need a fire for warmth and cooking. I may not be the greatest survivalist but I know I can eat any fish I can catch. Be safe and always make the best of circumstances!
