The "Whatever" Thread

I used to collect the USA made Schrades. Back around 2010 my wife was visiting her family in S. Illinois, she went into a small town hardware store that was closing. They had an almost full display case of them. She made all offer on the whole case, and got them all for me.
The guy at the show said he had a friend who was a distributer years ago. He had a couple price sheets from early 2000's and sold me several based on those. I'm surprised someone hadn't offered to buy everything. I'm guessing his table was so unassuming that most people just walked on past the older couple sitting there. I put a couple in a box I have for my youngest son, basically the male version of a hope chest.

I did see one guy at the show Friday walk up to a vendor and ask him if he would consider selling all of his inventory. I stood nearby pretending to look at knives while evesdropping on the conversation. The vendor was well organized and within minutes gave the guy a dollar figure. The guy offered him a little more than half what the offer was. There was no deal.

Anyone have big plans for Memorial Day weekend?
For many years Memorial Day was the first big camping trip of the season. There would normally be two or three families camping and several that would just spend the day. It looks like everyone else has plans this year and it will only be the three of us camping. I told my wife I'm a bit sad that everyone won't be camping this year but I'm also looking forward to a weekend of just us. It's been far too long since we've had one.

Meet some new folks if in a campground and just share coffee, bug repellent, and stories around the fire.

Wish her well, my daughter is a teacher and she says it really has been tough year because of Covid, the disrespect from second graders, learned from some of the parents, very sad. Wish her much success wherever her path lies ahead!! she will do great. way to go graduate!!
