the women in our lives.

For me it's the other way round - my husband is not into knives at all.

my girlfriend is pretty stoked about getting an izula as a present. she actually told me I was sweet for getting her one, and preferred one that wasn't tactical pink. she also begged me off selling a few of my favorite knives even though times are tough, so I reckon I'm gonna marry her in a few more months. who else has been blessed enough to get an SO who either supports or engages in your sharp things hobby?

Does she have a sister? :)

Befor getting your wife a knife think about the three letters that puts fear in any sane man PMS. Then go to bed and get a good nights sleep:jerkit:

My Dear Friends,

I am quite fortunate in this regard.

My wife has a passing interest in knives, and always has one on her person: generally a serrated Spyderco.

The real treat is my daughter. She is ten years old and has been handling knives since she was 4 (in the kitchen under supervision obviously). She got her first slipjoint Swiss Army Knife at age five and graduated to a Spyderco Ladybug at age six. She now has a small but good quality collection that would surprise you. She carries some kind of knife everywhere that it is permissible for her to do so - it is not unusual when we are camping for me to see a Spyderco Harpy or CLB Lava clipped to her pocket.

To answer everyone's question: no, she has never cut herself - she was taught proper technique and safety from the start. She also understands that dull knives hurt their owners, so she reminds me to keep all of her knives razor sharp so she doesn't need to use excessive force when cutting.

Somehow I think a Pink Izula might be in her immediate future as camping season gets underway this year. :D

I have to admit that my wife really doesn't understand my obsession with knives. She doesn't even understand why I carry one everywhere. But, I can't tell you how many times she asks me to cut or open something with it. She never asks to borrow it, just asks me to do it. At least she is tolerant.

thanks to me , my wife over 11 years has accumulated an old Spyderco standard,a vic tinker, leatherman micra, roach belly by Tim Ridge, BRKT highland, pink mini-grip, and a pink Izula. My 8 yr. old daughter has a lot more than that plus a tomahawk and a 1/3 scale basket-hilt.

If I could give you rep points I would - good on you getting your daughter involved in knives! :D

Our 5 year old wants and izula but we don't want to get one for our 7 year old. Oh the dilemas when you're mega fair.

My Wife has a Pink Izula & Loves it and a Pink SAK Classic as well... I was going to get her a pink Native but she opted for the SAK due to the Scissors LOL

I hope I get lucky enough to eventually find a girl who loves knives as much as I. That would be a real treat.

My wife thought I was a nutcase at first, but then I bought her a Byrd Finch (which she loves and always carries, says she feel naked without it now), she goes to some pretty nasty neighborhoods, so wanted to get her something bigger, a Byrd Robin. Hardly ever carry that one :(

I figured it was time to graduate her to something a little more upscale, so got her a purple Spyderco Ladybug, but she thinks its too nice to carry, so got her a pink Delica, and told her the condition was that she should carry it, which she does \e/

I don't think she will ever be into it like I am, but she got me an RC4 and an Izula for various occasions, so thats good. I guess I also get to keep my knives to myself, since she has little interest in them. She encourages me to get RAT stuff, actually, because of the warranty and their company policies (American made, etc.)

My girlfriend was not at all into knives before we started dating a little over a year and a half ago, now she has a pink Benchmade Mini-Griptilian, a Boker Subcom, a Landi PSK with awesome spalted birch handle slabs, and a pink Izula. What's even better is that she has her eyes on a Kahr CW9 and wants to get a CHL. :D:D

My wife is my jewel. Even though she isn't crazy about knives like I am, she shows a level of interest in them anyway. Every year at income tax refund time she allots out of the refund enough money that I can feed my knife hunger. She also, even though were on a fixed income due to my disability, she works the budget where I can get at least 1 decent knife a month. :D

Yeah you guys are pretty lucky, but I think I have you beat. My wife is the best, I spend a lot more on guns nowadays than knives. I could spend probably 250 any given week as long as its in the account on ammo, and accessories, without her asking more than "What did you get?" My first RAT purchase was a pink Izula for her because she didn't have a knife, and I figured it would soften her up for when my tan one arrived. We are coming up on out first anniversary on July 4th, and so far she has a S&W M&P 9mm compact and a pink Izula. Not to mention we have gotten sleeping bags for both of us, a 4-man weatherproof tent, and most everything she would need for day hikes and camping, along with quite a few items for the both of us that I usually carry and use most. She's the bestest. Sorry no matter what you say!!! Single guys: be patient and good luck.

My girl is just happy that I'm easy to buy birthday/Christmas gifts for. I keep a running list of "must have" knives :D.

She has never had a problem with my knife addiction, but wasn't all that fascinated in them herself. A little while ago I got a good quality set of kitchen knives for us which we both love using. Now when we go somewhere else and she has to use a "normal knife" she starts complaining. So she's starting to realise the benefits of quality blades. :D

My Wife couldn't care less about my knife habit. She's just not into it - but she doesn't give me a hard time about it. She'd probably prefer I spend money on blades than on tattooes...
