the women in our lives.

My wonderful wife of 12 years says she never knew there were SO MANY different knives (sigh!).

But she loves the cute pink folder I got her for X-Mas and now knows how incredibly useful knives can be.

I think RAT knives are a little MANLY for "most" females:p

She's a good shot though -

This is the coolest photo I have seen all day.

My wife doesn't mind me collecting and making knives and she really loves a well made knife for the kitchen. She also loves the fact that I can keep all of them razor sharp for her, but she doesn't carry one of her own.

My wife makes me want to pull my hair out at sometimes.

I tried to teach her jujitsu, but she doesn't want to learn.

I did take her shooting, and she showed potential. The very first time we went shooting, she hit 4 bull-eyes with an SKS at 100 yards. Luck, maybe? But, I'm really wondering how she would do with an AR15 at 100 yards.

I have my AR15 now; and I want to build her one. But, she shows little interest.

We've been talking about moving to a bigger city like Dallas or Atlanta; I said if we move she has to get a CCW and learn to carry and shoot a pistol/revolver.

She agreed. I will have to enroll her in a class, because I doubt I will be able to train her or be hard enough on her. *I was a real jerk when I taught her how to drive. LOL. She didn't talk to me some nights*

Oh well. But, back to knives.... She has a small pink Swiss Army knife on her keychain, but says she doesn't want a pink gun. Can't figure it out.

My wife isn't a knife nut but she understands their uses and always carries one (a SAK). She was supportive when I bought her her own fixed blades, for ... contingencies. (Not RATs but somewhat similar to the RC-4 and Izula, *excellent* pair.)

Oddly enough now she has warned me to stop buying knives and to spend the money on guns instead, because I don't have enough.

I am a lucky man. :)

You are a lucky man. My wife has started insisting that I sell mine.

My wife is 5' 4" and 120 lbs. she shoots my Glock better than most of my friends, wants me to buy her a pink Izula, and wants a new RAT shirt..... Also, when I got home yesterday she had painted the kitchen ( did a great job) and pulled up all the tile on the floor. All while taking care of our 4 year old and 1 year old. And to top it all off she is keeping a 4.0 GPA while going to college full time. Shes a keeper.:D

MrsCoffee purchase a Gerber BMF for my birthday when we started dating, and got a LMF for herself..... 20 years later, she still checks out every blade I buy, and manages to find one or two for herself. To date she still likes Gerbers, and Victorinox.

Oh yeah, and taking any of mine she finds useful :)

Almost everyone here is lucky :(
I'm just a huge knifenut and she hates knives. Even when she needs to cut something she'll always leave it instead of asking me for my knife.
She's stubbern as hell but she's my angel and i need her
I'm just stuck between 2 loves :p

Gather every cutting tool in your residence and lock them all up where she can't get them. Scissors, nail clippers, kitchen cutlery, nose hair trimmers, veggie shredders, shavers... you get the picture. See how long it is before she starts to ask to have them put back in service... then remind her that they are all knife derivatives. :p

I gave my GF a Warren Thomas Carbon Fiber folder for self defence and she loves it. At one point she didnt understand why I bought so many knives but since I slowed down she has no problem with it.

I'm slowly turning my girlfriend into a gun/knife nut! She is planning on getting her CCW soon.....she is looking for a good revolver! Back to knives.......She has a Spyderco Bug and a Boker Subcom that I gave her to start her out.....she is slowly catching on! She has been finding some nicer folders that she wants. I was browsing last night and she saw the Surefire Delta folder and loved it! She will be getting a ring before she gets a $400 folder though!

NO WAY!!
She'll just buy new ones and that will hurt my wallet way to badly :grumpy:

Unless proper training is involved, a knife doesn't even come to mind when I think about self defense recommendations for someone in a normal urban setting. If not a gun, I would be more apt to recommend pepper spray. Both of these options can provide a buffer zone while a knife is up close and personal.

Don't carry what you don't want used against you. :)
