Delectable! That certainly qualifies as an "If you could only have one whittler..." top-shelf entry. :)

What a beaut, Tom Krein grind and all. I can only imagine!

A tip going forward:

When you want to post one of your Photobucket images here, copy the IMG on its page, seen circled in the above image (usually by simply clicking on it-- it automatically copies; also-- sorry, Biscuit), and paste it into your post(s) here.

Voila!

Thanks! I really like this knife. This afternoon's natural light really brought the color to life today. The photos are 100% not retouched. I was happy with how they turned out since I only used my phone and didn't break out the nice camera!

My pick of the three is the one with the Northfield shield.:)

+ 1 :thumbup::)
I call that the pickle, it serves the best for whittling and all around good looker. The American whittler probably still wins out for me as all time favorite though.

WOW guys fantastic whittlers on this page, each and everyone of them. Have 3 on their way, I'll post them upon arrival. Keep them coming

Mike

Enjoying looking over all the nice whittlers being show in this thread. I like the whittler patterns for the complexity of their backspring designs and I own several, but I don't use them for whittling, most of mine are smaller (3-1/2" or less) and the secondary blades feel flimsy. The one I own with stout blades is this Case 6380, a 1972 made 8-dot version. I carry it frequently as an EDC, however the coping blade is a thumbnail buster if your are not careful when opening. CDS - your 6380 appears to have that nice black bone from the later 1970's - always looks great with nickel bolsters! OH

It is a '76 and looks to be brown bone. I just got it. That coping blade is rather hard on my nails!

I find it ironic that the company that led me to the farmers jack never made one.As I've said before I was looking for the '80 patterns when I stumbled upon a bad picture of a Schrade Cut Co farmers jack.

Cattaraugus never made the standard wharncliffe frame farmers jack (although they made a swell center version) either, from whom I guess the Case brothers evolved?

Anyway here is the the first knife I ever bought to collect in 1979,from off a hardware store display board .

Here are a couple more I'm fond of. An H Boker and a Shapleigh made by Empire ,on their farmers jack frame (which was pretty much copied by Schrade):

Bruce,
As you probably know they had a small easy open notch on that blade in some earlier versions,a nice feature they discontinued.

Some really nice ones, with lots of character everyone.
My only two, and like you guy0783 the half wit (in the form of the Northwoods Willamette Whittler) has become a favourite of mine. Disappears in the pocket.
